I'VE TAKEN MY Lucid Air Touring IN FOR SERVICE 3 TIMES BECAUSE THE STEREO SOUNDS BAD ON SOME SONGS, AND THEIR RESPONSE IS THAT THE CAR IS LIKE THAT AND THEY CAN'T REPAIR IT. I'D LIKE TO KNOW IF ANYONE HAS HAPPENED TO THIS.

Please search the forum; there are a lot of threads on this.

What software version are you on? Have you had the TSB and TSC applied? What songs sound “bad”? How, specifically, do they sound “bad”?

We can’t help without more specifics. Videos might be helpful. There are lots of threads on this; please see how others have resolved it.

In the video you can see the sound problem. The Lucid service in Miami says it's normal and they can't do anything.

I still don't understand. Hard to tell what is bad microphone vs speaker issue. Can you describe the problem as well?

The stereo sound is distorted on some songs. I've taken it to service and they say they can't do anything. I've seen that many people complain about the stereo on this Lucid model. It should solve this problem. It's frustrating that they can't solve this in a new car and that when you buy it, they don't tell you that it has this problem. I feel cheated. I think I'll have to seek the help of a lawyer.

Please be more specific; I promise we're trying to figure out what you're saying, not fish for no reason. What, specifically, is distorted? Bass? Highs? Mids? On what songs? Can you provide some examples, with some specifics? Do you have regular Surreal Sound or Pro?

There is no "general" complaint about the sound, especially as of the last few software updates. Distortion shouldn't be happening, but you need to be specific. Some folks aren't thrilled about the level of bass. I happen to disagree, but that's not an issue of distortion, and is a matter of opinion.

I quote, from before: "Please search the forum; there are a lot of threads on this."

I feel cheated. I think I'll have to seek the help of a lawyer.
lol. okay. I wish you the best of luck, but I can all but guarantee that will both a) not work out for you, and b) result in far more frustration than you have today. "I don't like the way it sounds" is not a lemon-law issue.

Not being mean; you're just almost certainly never going to find any kind of success there, and Lucid is definitely not going to be more likely to want to work with you post-suit, if you even find an attorney to file one.

You win far more flies with honey than vinegar, but feel free to handle your issue however you'd like.

I'm with the rest of the team.. what is the specific issue you are dealing with. could not make it out from the video. Is there too much bass? bass cracking?

Same here, I only hear mic distortion in the videos. No problems are readily apparent.

Have you tried the same song across multiple streaming services, so you can see if it’s the playback or media? Tidal seems to work the best for me.

Also, I second @borski, re:litigation, litigation is like pouring poison in your own ear and expecting someone else to die.

“Some songs” actually leads me to believe it might be the inherent playback of the car, which is something that has been talked about extensively on the forums. Certain music doesn’t always have the same reproduction depending on the sound system. I can promise you the Air’s sound system (surreal sound pro) is one of the best vehicle sound system setups most have experienced. (Friend who owns a studio commented on it)

So can you give us a few of the songs you’re saying are distorted, explanation or time stamps, and what SSP or SP your system is.

Thanks.

Source, source, source... Be aware. MQC will also sound that way if you are not unpacking correctly. Does it sound that way on your home stereo or just fine? The group if trying to get some type of standard and identifying the issue. Constructive Advice: you can be part of the solution or part of the problem.

Your treble sounds better than mine. It's crystal clear.

Can you boost your bass in the equalizer to the maximum and the rest to a minimum to confirm that bass is the issue?

Each time there's a beat from the drum, yours sounds like a broken/torn-up paper cone/diaphragm or suspension of the loudspeaker. It sounds terrible. This is not normal.

The beat of the bass should be crispy, thumpy, but not like tearing up the speaker's paper cone, and sounds distorted because they rub against each other!

What are the song and author so I can play them in my car and compare them?

Yes to "bass cracking" but not because of "too much bass." His equalizer is flat at all zeros. Before switching to Lucid, the bass of my other three cheaper different EV cars from 2012 to 2022 could vibrate the mirrors (rear and sides), the loose parts of my pants... but still with crispy, clear bass, and no cracking.

I have bass distortion problems with specific songs as well, it sounds similar to your recordings.

I've tested with FLAC via USB as well as Tidal and am able to reproduce regardless of source quality. The issue seems to be more prevalent on hotter days where the rear parcel shelf is being subjected to direct sunlight. Lucid sent a mobile technician out who was able to reproduce the problem in 30 minutes. I have a replacement parcel shelf on order but no ETA from Lucid when it's supposed to come in.
