Gravity Demo drives

Looks to me like 2 cars only, each time slot can take 2 reservations, and it’s clear from the dates that it’s the same 2 test drive cars going around the country. Anyway, this is very exciting and I’m looking forward to my test drive on May 3rd.
I was hoping to come here and read about the excitement of this, but it seems like some people will always complain regardless of what the situation is, can we stop the complaining already please?!
I'm excited!
Got my test drive reserved.

As for " ... people will always complain regardless of what the situation is ...", welcome to the Internet. It's comes with the territory.
Even after the Gravity is in the hands of customers, complaints (I just call them comments) are going to be posted.
I'm ok with that. Free speech. Everyone is entitled to it. How you respond to it is your decision.
That's life in general.

If you can make a reservation, do it and share your experience with us.

You’re right. They’ve done nothing else. Sell the stock, the car, and burn it all down. They’ve sat on their hands and wasted our time while they collected paychecks.

That was the only other option, right? :p

(As usual, I understand the idea that outrage is fuel; the internet breeds outrage for this reason. But, perhaps, we don’t need quite so much of that on this forum. Just a thought.)
You are totally missing the point of Lucid always making false promises or missing there timelines. Each individual has there own tolerance, we cannot tell them to sell there stock burn it down or what ever. You level of trust is different to us due to what you have in hand and the info you had all this days. But most of us are in the dark and has 0 clue. As Lucid owners, investors and well wishers what Lucid is doing is not what they promised for. Just my opinion and not what i want everyone to agree.

So looks like they have finally made ONE car and moving it around to a few sites for test drives. Still waiting to drive one in San Diego. That one car is not coming here.

I am not missing the point. I understand Lucid misses timelines. I’m not an idiot and I’m not blind.

I have the same info you have as to deliveries; I do not know anything more. Otherwise, I could not hold stock.

The difference between your reaction to the very same point and mine is simply that I recognize it is a luxury car being waited on, and not a prescription medicine to save my kid’s life.

It’s. Just. A. Car.

We will be fine.

Be patient. Bringing a vehicle to market is way more difficult than it seems.

Scheduled my appointment! I'm amazed that I happen to actually live in one of the cities lucky enough to be offering test drives!

Does anyone know what these "Encounter" events are like? If you register for a demo drive, do you only get 20 minutes to drive a Gravity, or are there more Gravitys and/or items for seeing/touching/trying out? For example, can you experiment with the seats and cargo space, see the different interiors, compare the standard vs. upgraded front seats, try the massage, etc. The closest event is still a long trip for me, and I'm wondering if I would get a much more complete experience of the vehicle if I wait until there are some in the Lucid Studios.

And some folks are just way too negative. If you don't like the way things are going with Lucid, why sit around here on these forums complaining? Why not take your hard earned money to another company you feel is worth it to you? Maybe it's just me, but if it really was that much of an issue to me, I'd go elsewhere and move on. No disrespect to anyone, it just seems so much easier and less stressful to do so...

Aside: I can’t offer test drives, but as I offered to @brianman, if anyone in the Bay Area wants to meet up and see it and/or look around, I’m happy to meet up. DM me.

If there are a hundred of you I’ll set up a group time lol, but please only DM if you’re serious. Reminder that this is my personal time and I don’t work for Lucid, so if you just want to look at the car, that’s fine, but my goal is to help folks make a decision, not so much to convince those that have already decided not to buy one.

I dont see anyone posted here for urgency on the vehicle to be delivered today. People are asking for info and not dates that they keep on missing. It will just help them to make a decision. Lucid should have known this when they delivered vehicle on December what can be a possible date but yet they choose to float more and more dates and miss them. It’s just expecting transparency.

It’s fine; I’m not trying to tell you how to feel. You’re entitled to feel however you’d like.

I do not believe that the issue is you feel “lied to” if you also didn’t want the car urgently. It is generally urgency (or its cousin, impatience) that generates this sort of outrage. For some, it’s completely reasonable (my lease is ending and I *have* to make a choice).

For *most*, I believe it is because outrage *feels good*, as evidenced by the entire rest of the internet. It’s a well-known phenomenon; I did not make it up and we didn’t first learn about it on this forum.

People on the internet love to get outraged. It’s a thing. Hundreds of articles and papers have been written about it. Here’s one: https://www.thoughtlab.com/blog/outrage-for-attention-how-anger-drives-the-digital/

It’s hard to fight the urge to rage online. It’s literally designed for us to want to.

I understand Lucid has missed deadlines. Okay. They’ll probably miss yet a few more. I’m not saying it’s good. I *am* saying it isn’t worth the outrage.

Just my $.02. Not trying to tone police, just keep the air in here breathable.

Reminder that this thread is about the *exciting fact* that there are *test drives coming up*. That is objectively good news.

One of the reddit post did say that their DE is slated to leave AZ 05/16 for 05/23rd delivery...

People just want certainty. A certain date (even if it is far far from today) that the vehicle can be delivered.
I made the following chart up just for illustration purposes.
What your words sound to me:
If you don't like tariffs, buy something made in America instead.

Yeah there is no viable alternatives to Gravity at least in the US market right now, so we have to live with the annoying uncertainty.

I mean this with literally all possible respect: I have no idea what you’re talking about, so I assume I’m missing the point. What do tariffs have anything to do with anything here?

I agree certainty and not missing deadlines would be the ideal scenario. That is obviously true. That’s not presently the case. That should be improved. We can all agree on that.

What we disagree on is whether we need 17 pages of a forum thread all saying that.

Lucid, to be clear, is *very* aware that missing deadlines is not a good look. This thread or any other isn’t going to “teach them that” either. You should absolutely let Lucid know you’re not thrilled with the missed deadlines and missed promises.

Have you ever managed an employee? The time to provide constructive feedback isn’t when they have just brought you an exciting new development; that should be celebrated. It’s all the time *in between* that you should be providing feedback.

And this forum isn’t the right place for feedback, despite the fact that @marqie lives here like the rest of us too :p Stuff here gets missed, so tell Lucid directly.

And I’d recommend approaching them with kindness and seeking to understand; I have never had a good relationship with anyone when I walked in guns blazing.

I've been to an event at a Lucid studio (don't recall if it was titled "Encounter").
I've gone to a Lucid studio to view a prototype while it was available at the studio. While I was there, I test drove an Air.

Based on the time limit specified in the invitation, my guess is you have that time to experiment some. Depends on your desired experiment.

Different interiors? Not sure how many models will be available, so actual interiors to see in person are limited to the models on site. However, the studios (at least mine) have the color swatches or displays that show all the interior colors and materials available for ordering.

I didn't have to deal with a time limit on my test drive of an Air.
With my upcoming Gravity test drive, I'm going with a desired strategy in mind with the hope of being able to implement it.
I don't need a demo of features I've already seen via review videos.
I mainly want to drive it, experience the squircle, seat height and view over the front display panel, and most of all, find out if the HUD is working and if so, how well it works.
Will I be allowed to implement my strategy? We'll see. What I'm hoping to avoid is a chatty employee who uses up my time talking in the parking lot.

I'm hoping those getting in drives before mine, will post here to better inform me and others with test drives reserved.

I didnt say anything about tariffs or buying American or foreign...

just that the negativity is not needed and folks are free to make other choices. If they feel the Gravity is worth it, complaining all day here wont change anything. I get the frustration, i truly do. At a point tho, some just need to decide if it would be better to deal or just walk away.

Hmmm, I think I just got an idea of how to help fund any future maintenance costs on my GGT; offer test drives.
Actually ride alongs. No way I'm letting anyone even sit behind the wheel of my Gravity.
Need to determine a mileage rate!

Kidding of course. :)

I'm getting way to ahead of myself. Excitement!

No worries. I did a bad job conveying my thoughts. It's on me.
