Sorry for taking so long to close the loop here!
Probably a combination of several things. The lack of communication during the delays being the largest. I would also say that a big factor was the original DA I was assigned. He was very difficult to connect with and I had to proactively reach...
It was actually sometime in October?
I ended up cancelling my order late January after getting frustrated with the entire situation for many reasons, so someone out there will be picking up (picked up) the DE.
I ended getting a Taycan Turbo and honestly extremely happy with it.
Very common nowadays with anything desirable. Especially if you can a good premium over purchase price. Probably less likely if the car market were normal. Look at all the lightly used 911 GT3 (992 gen) being flipped for 100K over MSRP.
I'm sure many intend to buy the car to drive it, but if...
That was a big reason for me. Spec wise, the 800 HP on the GT is far more than enough for anyone in practice. The fact that the DE had unique specs and limited (numbered) was what sold me on going ahead with it. The 520 units has a nice meaning to it based on the EPA range, which is something...

Being a small company and trying to balance getting customers cars with demo units out is pretty tough.
I had asked frequently about test drives and though it took a while (late December before they confirmed the DE delays), I was always told that every customer would have an opportunity to...
That's the general vibe in many of Jay's videos. He regularly expresses his preference of simpler cars that aren't too complex and have just what you need to enjoy driving. Not necessarily a bad thing.
I did get a sense that Lucid was more interested in Jay's feedback than he was about giving it.
Even if the number were correct and sequential, it doesn't necessarily mean they have all the parts needed for all DE left. Still, we can say that things are moving forward again and that's the positive.
My hope is that once Lucid shares the status of Q4 deliveries publicly, likely in tandem with quarterly fillings/earnings report, they'll be able to be more open about deliveries as the impact on the stock and company perception would've already been felt.
Once that occurs and if communication...
