One thing I haven't seen mentioned in this thread (could have missed it): my understanding is that UX 3.x for Air will require the CCCv2 (either originally built with it as in newer years, or upgraded). I would expect that UX 2.x may be limited in the future to high priority bug fixes for this...

I noticed the lack of Bears on the fenders.... I hope due diligence was done that it's really a DE.

Also, in a multi-car pileup, all of the middle cars will be partially at fault for following too closely. That bit of space between you and the car in front can prevent an accident from being even worse.

This is partially true. They have the same access to the data the car provides to CP/AA. But they don't have access to the UX data about what the user is doing with the apps running on the phone. At most they have screen touch data, but no context.
