    How does one go from a Chevy Malibu to an Air? Low probability of failure. Even with high burn rate, car platforms usually get absorbed into larger OEMs, esp with IP. Exception being, SAAB.

    I don't think its one or neither; in a basic F150 or Chevy Silverado you can switch between interfaces with a button. There's no loss of core UI if you don't want a non native OS.
