fwiw my SA was able to get the quote once I had my VIN but then he's holding off on initiating the actual process until we know we're within 21 days of delivery (since the offer would expire). Mine has been labeled as "in production" with a VIN since 5/31.
So that ^^^ was 4/30. Today (5/31) I also got the call from my SA that my black/tahoe/20/21 GDE has been assigned a VIN and is starting production. No speculative delivery date.
I actually appreciate that my SA hasn't made up any answers. He's very good at saying "we don't know yet", which...
Right. @hmp10 my SA proactively communicated hitting the “pre-VIN” stage and said it meant they were ordering all parts and putting it on the production schedule. VIN assigned when it actually starts production.
Got a call today that they've assigned a "pre-VIN" for my GDE, which (apparently) means securing all the parts and putting on the production schedule. Next update will be when they assign the actual VIN. We didn't have this "pre-VIN" notification step back in the early Air days but I'll take...
Just to close the loop here, my Lucid+CarPlay Bermuda Triangle problem has been resolved in 2.2.2. I've gone through it multiple times since the update with zero CarPlay drops 🙌
FWIW I was able to check in my case and it's NOT what Bobby described. In my case, the connection to the car totally drops. Like there's no longer a BT or CarPlay connection available and I have to reconnect/restart CarPlay once I'm out of this Bermuda Triangle.
