I’m one of those who DOES see SW updates in his dashboard fwiw. Started seeing them about a day before it left the factory and changed to “Preparing for Delivery”. My GDE has been in Houston since Friday for PDI, detailing, etc. As a bonus of being one of the (few?) folks who can see their SW...
I suspect this is one of the many mysteries we will never know the answer to. Mine happens to be in the boat of showing a SW update history prior to entering "Preparing for Delivery" state.
To give you some more hope (maybe?)...as mentioned a couple days ago in this thread, mine is now "Preparing for Delivery" and on its way to HOU right now.
Basic Q - for Air owners, does your not-yet-delivered Gravity show up in your MOBILE app? I can see it in my dashboard on the website, of course, but I don't see any sign of it in the mobile app.
Correct. When it hit that point, I was told 4-6 weeks is "typical" but clearly it's not super-predictable at this stage. Ended up being almost exactly 8 weeks for mine.
To give some sign of new progress, I got notified that my black/tahoe/20/21 GDE is "factory gated" today. TBD on delivery date.
For those who constantly monitor their dashboard for signs, in the last couple days leading up to factory completion I could see the SW updates getting loaded 👀:
Alright this is a great find/post if it actually helps. Early on with my Air I got frustrated because it couldn't even navigate correctly out of my neighborhood (always trying to direct me down some dirt path that's not a driving road), so I never tried it again once CarPlay was available (on...
fwiw my SA was able to get the quote once I had my VIN but then he's holding off on initiating the actual process until we know we're within 21 days of delivery (since the offer would expire). Mine has been labeled as "in production" with a VIN since 5/31.
So that ^^^ was 4/30. Today (5/31) I also got the call from my SA that my black/tahoe/20/21 GDE has been assigned a VIN and is starting production. No speculative delivery date.
I actually appreciate that my SA hasn't made up any answers. He's very good at saying "we don't know yet", which...
Right. @hmp10 my SA proactively communicated hitting the “pre-VIN” stage and said it meant they were ordering all parts and putting it on the production schedule. VIN assigned when it actually starts production.
