Solved: High Beam Assist, Adaptive Cruise unavailable and DreamDrive "Limited"

Wanted to post since I've had this issue since my GDE was delivered and it was resolved yesterday. After some amount of driving (typically >20 minutes), I would gets 2-3 simultaneous faults: High Beam Assist Unavailable, Adaptive Cruise Control Unavailable, and DreamDrive Limited. This would sometimes clear itself and then happen again some number of minutes later. It would ~always clear itself after parking, turning off/walking away and then later getting back in. Then 100% of the time if I drove long enough these faults would all hit. It happened whether or not any of these features was engaged at all during the drive. It sucked mainly because if I did have Adaptive Cruise or DD engaged, they would just stop working, which wasn't great for longer drives.

The good news is that mobile service (in Austin) was able to eventually debug and solve this working with the engineering team. It took 2 visits but on the second visit they had narrowed the hypothesis down to some specific cameras. The "Front Multi-Function Camera" (FMC) failed when they re-ran calibration, so they replaced it and calibrated with the new FMC. Since then, all good

As was my experience with the Air, mobile service was excellent. It was a bummer problem to have but I'm thankful they were able to debug and fix here locally.

Updating this thread for completeness. My same faults came back a couple weeks after the previous repair (replacement of the FMC). After more debug by the mobile service tech here, he+engineering realized that my FMC was missing the required bracket that should have been keeping it in place…and that my GDE never had that bracket (referencing earlier pics taken). Cool they figured this out, but the bummer was then that the entire “front canopy windshield” had to be replaced . Mobile service wasn’t comfortable doing that operation here in Austin (yet), so my Gravity was taken to HOU for the windshield replacement. Got it back yesterday (2/7) and so far no faults/issues. Hopefully that does it for good this time.
