Air Pure reservations

So is this Smooth considered Smooth in Pure or Sprint in Pure? šŸ˜‚
I'd agree with this - GT = 536 HP in Smooth (versus 819 in Sprint) and Pure = 480 HP in Sprint. A guesstimate of 340 HP in Smooth for Pure. Lucid might lessen the drop in HP in the Pure to keep performance up.

Thatā€™s some serious HP Sprint mode unlock lol

Was thinking of maybe putting in a reservation for the Pure, but I'm turned off by the fact that there's no option for the glass roof. This car is the cheapest of the current lineup but it's not a cheap car especially not after the price increase, to just not have the option for the glass roof at all doesn't sit right with me and just that isn't worth the 20k for the touring.

Hmmm...

I wouldn't have put in my reservation for a Pure at its current price. It makes a huge difference.

There has been discussion questioning the HP of the dual motor Pure, with some members suggesting it would be the same as the Touring (620hp). It appears many of us received a partial answer to this question.

Like me, many Pure reservation holders got an email from Lucid suggesting an upgrade to Touring. In this email, it listed the features not available in the Pure. This list included ā€œ620 hp dual motorā€. It seems clear that the dual motor Pure will be less than 620HP.

The attached image is the portion of the email that lists the features not present in the Pure.

The way its written is odd. They mention the 19 and 20 inch wheels as standard and the 21 as optional on Touring. The Pure has the 19 inch standard and 20 as an option so its not like all 3 wheels are not available. I suppose it does imply that the HP will not be the same for the Pure. The power seats are odd also as when you look in the renderings it shows the Pure with the same seat controls as the other models so I suppose they could be removing the functions that are only via the Pilot Panel.

MorganB's screen capture makes logical sense to me. If I were a Touring customer, I'd be pissed a Pure AWD buyer would have the most desired option (extra HP) for so much less $.

Curious - when they sent those emails? I did not receive one and think I will probably upgrade to the Touring.

I have not gotten one either. I wonder if its based on some of your selected specs? I have selected Cosmos Silver which is Q4..... Or maybe when you reserved?

Interesting - I also selected Cosmos Silver, but did not reserve until May.

The email also notes heated and ventilated seats as features availability on Touring but not Pure. I am hoping the Pure has at least heated seats (havenā€™t had a car without heated seats since 2002).

I saw that also. The more they chip away at the options the less enthusiastic I am about the car. Iā€™ll decide once they finally give all the info.

I really dislike options being locked behind different tiers of trims, but I understand why it's done. Hopefully on the next iteration of the Air or their upcoming smaller sedan there will just be the base model and you can pick from ALL available upgrades a la carte (battery pack size, glass/metal canopy, RWD/AWD, etc.)

I feel like they have too many tiers to their Air. Just have two like Tesla and leave at that with few options that customer can choose. Makes it much easier for production that way too. That is one thing that Tesla definitely got right.

Looks as if Lucid adapted the Porsche Taycan business model. Both have 4 models. Both use the same body/chassis setup across all models. Both are clever enough to push you to the next level up the chain by removing must haves from the lower offering. A/C seats are a must have for us in South Florida. Was never an issue when we lived up North. We do have a Pure on order but will cancel if A/C seats are not available as an option.

It was offered only to individuals who reserved Pure prior to 06/01/2022. I received the email on July 13.

I reserved on 03/07/2022. No offer. Iā€™m not interested right now anyway but Iā€™m curious what the parameter is.

AC seats will not be offered on the Pure, which is already confirmed. AWD is offered on Pure but no official word on HP. I wouldn't put a lot of stock in the email, Lucid is desperate for buyers of the higher trim.
