Ordering and Delivery: Lucid Air Grand Touring

Currently at BH service center. They have 8 cars waiting for pickup. Who's coming in to get it?!?!

There were four at Tysons Corner, including mine, yesterday - plus two test drive models.

Seems like an end of quarter sprint to get cars flagged as delivered for the upcoming earnings call.

Yeah. They are trying to make their 2Q numbers. Wonder how many are at Costa Mesa where mine is? Having them leave the factory means that they were “produced” so they can hit the number. That was the reason for the big QC push and the email by Zak a few weeks ago.

My concern is that with the numbers they pushed into the studios, we are going to be rushed at pickup and won’t get the quality of service one would expect.

You are correct. Based on what I have seen, it is supposed to be there. I was told that it will be available as part of a future software update.
What do you mean your delivery was delayed because of heavy damage to the front?

When the car was sent to Goose Island, I did not hear from my DA for over a week. After escalating (no response from the DA) with corporate, he called and explained that my delivery will be delayed further due to damage during shipment. The DA did tell me is was extensive but did not provide details. The FA for whatever reason was actually aware of what happened to the car and explained that it was the frunk and that Lucid replaced the entire frunk.

I swapped the mats out for some cheap black ones while i'm waiting on Mojave mats to come that I have on order. Even with scotch guard I found the mats were still getting dirty even after vacuuming so ended up getting this

@HC_79 , the Mojave mats are not black. They are gray. I just recently figured this out and not entirely sure I want those gray mats.

Friend, I know your experience waiting for this car has been lengthy and frustrating. But must you make a negative comment on every post? The power of positive thinking is very strong. Try it!

Wait I glossed over it before, but just saw front end damage?
It happened in transit (or so I am told) from the factory over to Goose Island. I will never get the full story, but I did have my PPF installer take a careful look when I dropped it off and he said this car actually has fit and finish much better than the other two he worked.

Sure! I’m POSITIVE they rushed through PDI since it only took them 2 hours. 🤣

…. and I’m POSITIVE I will take my time with the car no matter what their schedule Is. I don’t need them while I inspect if they have other customers from their Q2 push. Just ready for this long ordeal to be over. I am POSITIVE I will want to drive the car and that it will handle as advertised and I’m POSITIVE I won’t be spending another $1000 in gas on my next trip like I did this month while waiting for the car.

i‘m actually a very POSITIVE person overall, but I don’t tolerate incompetence and I am a firm believer in the fact that past experiences from a company are indicative of future ones unless the company has demonstrated a change in culture. Until Lucid shows me quality CS, I don’t expect it. I’m told on this forum that the post-delivery experience is much better. I’m waiting in anticipation.

Does Tysons Corner now have a service center, or were these cars delivered from a known service center for delivery at the Tysons studio? I am confused. The Tysons Service center is not supposed to be finished until the winter 2022.

Yes I would definitely be vigilant. That front unit houses an enormous amount of tech if I recall correctly from one of rawlinson’s lucid videos. Would it be worth it to be on a trade in list for one that hasn’t been previously damaged? If that’s even possible.

It's the Tyson Corner Lucid Studio not Service Center. I believe the PDI was completed at Goose Island.

I know, I was initially told they were black but when at the Beverly Hills Service Center was shown them and saw they were gray. Was a little disappointed but figured gray would hide dirt better than cream so still went and got them. When test driving the EQS over the weekend they got it right and had black floor mats over the cream carpet. I'm not sure why Lucid thought this was the best approach for floor mats given how prone that color is to showing dirt. I wish they would just make a black set as it would probably go with all the interior color choices.
