Software 3.6.5 Released

I'd say it's not strictly a software only or hardware only problem. The two are intertwined. I've seen improvement on my own Gravity with 3.6.5, but it also hasn't completely fixed the weird behavior in all instances.

While it hasn't been a week yet, my window issues would've presented themselves a handful (or more) times over 72 hours on 3.6.4.

So far, not a single unintended behavior from the windows on 3.6.5. I'll continue to monitor it and report any issues.

Well, my positive feedback from earlier has now met the reality of the window issue presenting itself again.

I got the car back from service (it was in for an intermittent 'Dream Drive limited' alert) today and when putting the driver's side rear window up, the window went back down. I was able to get the window to close by repeatedly 'inching' it up. If I'm keeping a positive outlook, at least it is happening less frequently.

As an aside, after not being able to reproduce my 'Dream Drive limited' alert while in service all last week, I was told there was nothing more they can do since the alert wasn't actively present on the vehicle.

The kicker? They had previously 'pulled a diagnostic CSV file' the last time the vehicle was there and had the alert present.

Double kicker? The alert presented itself about an hour ago. Round trip I am a little over 2 hours away from the service center. Le sigh.

@marqie, is 3.6.5 optional? My windows work fine on 3.6.4.
Still waiting for my software update prompt; it's been 2 weeks.

yeah I dont have it either. I have a mobile visit schedule to replace all 4 window actuators which makes believe on my car its hardware related and not software and thats why I dont get the SW update ...

3.6.5 is a limited release, if you haven’t got it by now it’s pretty safe to say your vehicle didn’t need it. It also seemed to mostly focused on Tourings

I heard (from SC) that this 3.6.5 was a fix for a specific regulator/motor that was changed some time during production. He said there is another fix coming for the remaining windows with issues.

There's going to be a window regulator replacement program initiated at some point based on feedback from someone who had theirs replaced recently in Houston.

That makes sense. Though I didn't ask for the repair, I mentioned that my passenger window did the old up/down and they added the replacement/repair to my work order. (I've already had drivers regulator replaced previously.)

Is 3.6.5 still in the distribution process? I haven't received it yet. No big deal if it is still being rolled out. If it's not, concerned if I'm off the list. 🙂

Marqie at Lucid said that this fix was only rolled out to Gravities that had certain hardware. Perhaps only ones that were built with a certain window motor. So, it doesn't sound like it will get pushed out to everyone.

That's interesting to know. It wasn't Tourings only, as my GT received the patch. I still see some occasional window weirdness. Lately, my driver side window after I close the door will sometimes retract to about halfway, and it happens after I walk away sometimes and may not notice it. My only gripe with this car has been with the windows, so hopefully all those issues are fixed in time (whether that means additional software improvements or fixing a hardware issue for my particular car).

Another data point: my windows were seemingly fixed for a period of time after this update. Now the same behavior has returned on the driver’s side rear and a new behavior (window going up when pressing down) has presented itself on my driver’s window.

On a side note: I got my car back (after a few weeks) this past Friday as service said my ‘dream drive limited’ alerts had been fixed. Less than a day later, the alerts returned. The Gravity is back at the East Rutherford service center again.

You should definitely contact them and add the new window regulator replacements to your work order. They should be doing it automatically, from what I heard when they added it to my work order.
