3.0 on Air

Maybe this is only my car, but has anyone else noticed that the volume control is extremely sensitive now? Starting from Volume 0 and going up one click at a time here is my take:

Volume 0 = silent
Volume 1 = barely audible
Volume 2 = a little too quiet
Volume 3 = a little too loud (especially for conversation with passengers)
Volume 4 = Jamming out to a song you really like
Volume 5 thru 99 = Way too loud for practical use

So basically 4% of the volume range is usable and the other 96% is ear-splitting loud. Seems to happen with any media source.

I tried resetting and it didn't help. Is this just my car? I have a 2026 Air GT.
Yes and I've already provided my input about it to the feedback email. I really hope they go back to the previous volume sensitivity, especially at lower volumes.

I think those first few steps are way too large actually…would appreciate a few more finer grained steps! The upper range of the volume is absolutely deafening to me but I guess that is a matter of taste and permanent hearing loss.

Interesting. Once again, vast individual variation. After reading of improvements to the steering wheel volume control, I finally remembered to give it a whirl, and found it much improved, in that the volume changes gets steadily (and consistently). I had always used the dash control, which had finer control, and which seems about the same as ever now for me.

The first time I tried the steering wheel one, it leapt up to deafening, but that hasn’t happened since….

My volume control was already bad prior to the UX3 update. It was like 0-10 = Usable; 11-99 = Unreasonably Loud.

Now, it's exactly as you described. Four positions that can be listened to without damaging someone's ears. I was genuinely excited for an infotainment overhaul because I thought things could only possibly improve in the audio department. I've been proven wrong.

My current "workaround" is to discontinue the use of Android Auto, and listen through Bluetooth. This way, I can use my phone's volume control as a baseline (set to about 50%) and make nearly the entire in-car volume range somewhat normal again.

I also still don't have the Directional Turn Signal Audio that was supposed to have shipped back in January 2025. 🤷‍♂️

I thought I saw various audio controls for each or a few types of sources. None of those settings make any noticeable difference?

I don't have this issue on my 2026 AT on 2.11. Volume control works as it should, with each click from one up delivering a small and consistent increase in volume.

I noticed it varies by source. CarPlay doesn’t work well, it’s as described by others. But when I use USB audio (which is broken in its own way), then the volume steps are fine

Twice today for some reason when I got back into my 2025 Air on UX 3.0 the range was displayed in miles not percent like I always have it set. Happened twice today after not having this issue since I upgraded. Weird…

So it’s not random which is a good thing, that means it’s a setting somewhere

Edit
Had a thought
I wonder if it’s going to where it thinks is home? Eg recalibration of the seat position might be the fix.
My Maserati does that occasionally. Just forgets where it is.

This happened to me recently. I've had it set to % since day one. Got in for a drive (after 3.0) and it was showing Distance. The setting itself was still showing Percentage as selected; switched it to Distance and back to correct it.

Another quirk for the bucket labeled "This only occurs in 0.8% of drive sessions; therefore, it cannot be reproduced, and its cause will never be known."

Yea I noticed this as well. Only one occurrence for me thus far.

Another small one - when my headlights come on my Lucid theme resets itself to the beige color, and the ceiling LED stays off entirely. Merely navigating to the theme page corrects this.

This occurs if you open the app on your phone and change between percent and distance there. It will mimic the app display into the dashboard

That is not what I experienced, I've never had distance configured in either.
