3.0 on Air

Maybe this is only my car, but has anyone else noticed that the volume control is extremely sensitive now? Starting from Volume 0 and going up one click at a time here is my take:

Volume 0 = silent
Volume 1 = barely audible
Volume 2 = a little too quiet
Volume 3 = a little too loud (especially for conversation with passengers)
Volume 4 = Jamming out to a song you really like
Volume 5 thru 99 = Way too loud for practical use

So basically 4% of the volume range is usable and the other 96% is ear-splitting loud. Seems to happen with any media source.

I tried resetting and it didn't help. Is this just my car? I have a 2026 Air GT.
Yes and I've already provided my input about it to the feedback email. I really hope they go back to the previous volume sensitivity, especially at lower volumes.

I think those first few steps are way too large actually…would appreciate a few more finer grained steps! The upper range of the volume is absolutely deafening to me but I guess that is a matter of taste and permanent hearing loss.

Interesting. Once again, vast individual variation. After reading of improvements to the steering wheel volume control, I finally remembered to give it a whirl, and found it much improved, in that the volume changes gets steadily (and consistently). I had always used the dash control, which had finer control, and which seems about the same as ever now for me.

The first time I tried the steering wheel one, it leapt up to deafening, but that hasn’t happened since….

My volume control was already bad prior to the UX3 update. It was like 0-10 = Usable; 11-99 = Unreasonably Loud.

Now, it's exactly as you described. Four positions that can be listened to without damaging someone's ears. I was genuinely excited for an infotainment overhaul because I thought things could only possibly improve in the audio department. I've been proven wrong.

My current "workaround" is to discontinue the use of Android Auto, and listen through Bluetooth. This way, I can use my phone's volume control as a baseline (set to about 50%) and make nearly the entire in-car volume range somewhat normal again.

I also still don't have the Directional Turn Signal Audio that was supposed to have shipped back in January 2025. 🤷‍♂️

I thought I saw various audio controls for each or a few types of sources. None of those settings make any noticeable difference?

I don't have this issue on my 2026 AT on 2.11. Volume control works as it should, with each click from one up delivering a small and consistent increase in volume.

I noticed it varies by source. CarPlay doesn’t work well, it’s as described by others. But when I use USB audio (which is broken in its own way), then the volume steps are fine
