assuming everything else in the vehicle being equal, yesDoesn't LFP suffer more loss in cold weather than NMC?

Though NMC charged to 80% for daily driving and 100% for the occasional road trip does make it worthwhile for me.If you stuff the battery full of nickel-based chemistries you have to take into account the 80% charge limit. LFP has been improving such that 100% LFP is within striking range of 80% on nickel. Sometimes even beating the 80% charge limit....
Yeah, it's down to use case and needs. Some people would prefer charging to 100% and going about their day, others care more about the extended range capability and are willing to deal with the regular 80% limit.Though NMC charged to 80% for daily driving and 100% for the occasional road trip does make it worthwhile for me.
Lucid needs to prioritize the sub $50k variant early in the release. Launching a mid $60s GT trim then waiting a year to put out the "Touring" or "Pure" version like we saw with Gravity won't get them the volume they need to sustain operations. Get the $45k model out the door with stable software at $4-500ish lease prices grow sales, brand awareness, and overall revenue. Hopefully by delaying the launch to next year allows them the time to figure out their release strategy.
I agree but what I meant was I think they should make the more affordable $45k trim and $65k trim both available day one. Not waiting to release the highest demand trim by a year or two. I'd imagine the differences between trims would be limited to battery size and software? They're only offering two interior color schemes and a handful of exterior colors is what I recall so the production will be more streamlined. But you're right if they can't get meaningful interest at $60k, that doesn't bode well for the lower cost variants. If Cosmos is still coming out of AMP-2 first, and if AMP-2 is still only capable of producing 5k vehicles in the first year, then Lucid can't afford to put out a lower margin trim first. And if Lucid can't sell out that 5k of their $60k trim like Rivian is with the Launch Edition R2 then they're in even bigger trouble than they are now.
The demand should be there, if they get Cosmos right. Just look at the new trio of midsize EVs from the luxury brands (GLC, iX3, EX60) showing large demand even though they're more expensive.
