Rivian assistant is way ahead of Lucid's right now. Many things conversationally, and just with respect to controlling basic car operations, are a step change ahead of Lucid, which almost always tells me it can't do something.

Isn't this something Lucid could advance independent of ADAS and other fixes? Seems like a pretty low-hanging item to help owner experience.

And for comparison with the state of the art, try Gemini in a Volvo.
Lucid = bad nav, worse voice assistant.

Lucid consistently lags far behind in software matters. Should Lucid collapse, its failure will be attributed to software negligence.

Its mostly useless. I love when it gives me incorrect instructions for its own operations. I asked it to roll down the rear windowshade. It told me to use the switch. I asked it to turn on heated seats. It told me to "use the controls on the seat", which of course don't exist.

But then you tell it to tell you a joke, and it actually has funny jokes that are geographically relevant!?!

Jokes aside, I think they switched vendors and got rid of Alexa, which I 100% support. They're using someone else now, not sure if its an ongoing thing or what.

A reputation for key fob problems (some caused by software, some by hardware), build quality issues, and service delys have put a damper on sales as well.
It's a shame, as both of my cars have had very few problems.

If you lose a portion of the initial sales for a given product, you generally can't get them back late. A product's end of life is usually determined by the rise of competing products and other external factors.

It's a joke in itself, so that's why telling jokes is really its thing

David Flynt, Director of UX/UI at Lucid, was showing off a prototype of a new Lucid AI Agent in a Lucid Gravity with Kim Java about 6 months ago. Looked promising and fairly far along. Like so many things, it's likely this got delayed in the grand restructuring and reprioritization.

(Dave comes in around 4:25 in the video.)

I think it would be failed QA processes and poor service network.

Eh, even my Tesla doesn't do a lot better but at least its replies make sense. I have never had a car where it felt like the Assistant was necessary or even beneficial in any major way.

Thanks for finding this! I remembered watching this video and was amazed to see what they were showing Kim Java, as we have never seen anything close to this as Lucid owners.

I know Silvio Napoli is doing the right thing by narrowing the focus of the company, cutting production and offloading inventory. But Lucid will not sell Cosmos at significant volume until 2028. If they really want to promote Air and Geavity sales, bring some simple crowd pleasing enhancements to the experience. It’s low lift, but makes a big positive impression to customers. Honestly rolling out that next gen assistant and PAAK would make the Air and Gravity hard to beat, given the stability I am seeing with software.

I have used the new assistant to tell me jokes and give me the weather forecast. Beyond that, I really don't find it useful or reliable. I think moving from Alexa to in house development isn't a bad idea, provided you have a reasonable alternative at the time. Lucid was premature iMHO.
