I had decided not to do the chip upgrade on our 2022 Air, but I've become so pleased with the UX 3.0 in our Gravities (now that most of the software bugs have finally been rooted out) that I'm now thinking I'll proceed to upgrade the Air.
But I wonder . . . will it fix the intermittent failure of the driver massage seat and the driver-side rearview mirror that sometimes spontaneously folds inward?
Both these things started shortly after the 4-year leg of the warranty expired, and I've given up hoping that Lucid will offer an extended warranty program. We still love driving the Air, but if these failures continue to accumulate we'll start the countdown for an interesting EV convertible to hit the market. I wonder if the Genesis project with the Lucid powertrain is dead?
BTW, this isn't really meant to be a slam at Lucid durability. I would never drive a German car without an extended warranty, as the speed at which they can generate post-warranty feature failures can be astonishing.
I don't think it'll impact those specific issues, but I also don't know how the controls for those items are routed.
Would be worth asking your service advisor or local service center.
As for my upgrade, went well and on the long commute home noticed that Android Auto started having audio clipping / popping issues after about an hour and a half in the commute. Not sure if that was related to my phone overheating or the CCCv2 overheating. I did stop to charge and get dinner, and by the time I was done with both and on my way home it was fine and was fine this morning as well. It also took me an embarrassingly long time to find the brightness slider to tone down the brightness hah.
