UX 3.0 Update

Not an Air owner but I was looking at this thread and was like, folks been mad and asking for the 3.x update for Air for a long time and they finally roll it out and the complaint now is that the version numbers don’t match? As long as it successfully does what it supposed to do, why is it a thing to complain about versioning. That’s an internal CM thing that Lucid has/will work out I’d think. And I think also you are right about this possibly being an internal rollout. Give them a little grace. If the software doesn’t do what it should, by all means then, have at them.
It's not about nitpicking version numbering, it's more about confidence in Lucid's software team. From a mechanical standpoint, the cars are world class. But they've been burdened (HEAVILY) by poor software performance. So the lack of basic, common sense version numbering is like salt on a raw wound. In the summer my car was bricked when upgrading to version 2.9.2. The next day a new patch was released... also version 2.9.2. If you look at your car and it says you have 2.9.2 installed, which one is it? This is the kind of absolutely basic stuff that even High School programming classes have down pat. So getting the long touted version 3 of the UX and numbering it 2.11.0 is absolute amateur territory that doesn't inspire confidence that the software team is improving. All that being said, I'm making the assumption that was an internal build for employee testing and will be addressed by the time it hits our cars. Fingers crossed

Well, the software version numbering isn't fixed in the version going to regular customers (like my 2022 AGT). Oh well, a pretty minor issue in the scheme of things.

I can only guess that if this is being number 2.11 it is likely just a reskin of the Air OS to look like UX3 but they have not unified their software platform yet.

I think they took the smart route and played it safe instead of changing a platform or overhauling the whole system which may open a big can of worms

As long as they roll out a stable software platform, it does not matter the name 2.11, 3.0, or AIROS 26

Version numbering is not indicative of the health of a software project.

Take a look at any complex software project and you'll have a whirlwind of versions that all coalesce into what you as the end user recognize as a single number or name. Windows for example - the metaphorical product box says Windows 11, which is actually version 10 of Windows NT. The user interface that you see is WinUI 3. And sure, maybe Microsoft isn't the pinnacle of software design - my laptop runs Bluefin version 44 while the user interface is version 50 of Gnome.

If anything, Lucid has a marketing problem in deciding what to to call their product.

22 AGT, downloading the update now, I have the updated CCCv2.

Just popped up on my 23 Touring with the CCCv2 Upgrade. Version 2.11.0 with 3.0 UX. Says 45 mins to install. Just started. Wish me luck in this bold new frontier haha

Lucid officially announced 2.11.0 (including 3.0 UX) and made it clear that yes, CCCv2 is required.
hmm time will tell if this is worth the $950.. once the "new toy" feel wears off, would be great to get a sense for if this actually enables anything new in terms of new capability. pitting the pilot panel to better use is one, but thats not gonna be enough for me ;)

Glad I checked this thread.
I was a bit confused by the words "version 2.11.0 " and "Air UX 3.0" mixed into the notification...
Anyhow...just started the update. can't wait!

And Yey! " Both CarPlay and Android Auto now completely fill the Right Cockpit Panel"

It should save fill as much as possible. Apple and Google won’t allow it to fill the curved area.

Gotta love it! I am leasing a 2024 Air Pure until July 2027 and accordingly I do not get the UX 3.0 unless I pay the $950.00 plus applicable taxes for the hardware upgrade too (eventually). This strengthens my conviction that leasing is better than buying at this point as you don't want to get stuck with old technology and that will especially be true when SSB come into production or they up the 100% EPA range new. So I am definitely not going to pay the $$ to get the UX 3.0, what I got is fine and since I don't know what 3.0 will get me it is only cocktail bragging talk at the next party. "Oh I have the UX 3.0 on my Lucid." Wahoo! So I wonder how that works for Lucid. Now you have 2022-2024 leases that people probably will not pay the $$ for the hardware for 3.0 so they have to eat the hardware cost to sell the car down the road? Or do they make me (dare I say this) pay to do the hardware upgrade?

I have a 2023 Lucid Air and I paid the $950 for the hardware upgrade about a year ago. I received the prompt to upgrade to UX 3.0 (otherwise known as version 2.11) today and just completed the upgrade. The new User Interface looks much nicer and more advanced than the previous version. I like it a lot! The only issue I've had so far is with Sirius XM; I can't find artist stations when I do a search. But the Sirius XM implementation may be independent of the Lucid update.

If this is real, Lucid is beyond any help. Release 2.11 is 3.0... FFS
This is entirely consistent with traditional software numbering. The interface is a new version (V3) but the underlying software is substantially similar. I'm not aware of any new features that warrant more than a .1 bump in numbering. It's still V2 software.

I'm VERY excited to be using my 36,000 referral points to order more Lucid shirts while being asked to shell out $950 for something that was promised to be added to the Referral Store. Makes me feel lower than whale poop. Lower even than the slime that it rests on.
