2024 Lucid Air Touring
First off, I love driving the car. That being said, I would never buy another Lucid again, constant glitches. Where do I start?
The "Frunk" has never worked, the week after I bought the car (new) it went back to the dealer for 2 weeks to try and fix the "Frunk" not opening or even worse not closing. It was never fixed, I don't use it because I fear not being able to close it after it takes 20 attempts to open. Also the self latching on the driver side door was to be addressed, it still fails constantly then get a notification that my door is open.
The camera issues are just too numerous to even detail, constant failures, lag time for them to come on, says they are blocked, can't see me face. I just ignore them completely. They are of no use at all. Curb rash guard? never works on passenger side.
Android auto, was also a constant battle until about two weeks ago when it stopped working altogether. It doesn't even come up in the car at all anymore.
Aside from the electronic glitches I have some mechanical as well. I have less than 12miles on the car and the body flex when going in or out of a driveway is so bad, you would swear it was a convertible. The interior squeaks and groans from the materials moving as the body adjusts to the different height at each wheel.
There is play in the steering at slow speed like when making a left turn at a light.
I must say, I regret having purchased a luxury sports sedan that is holding up worse than a Toyota or Honda. At least BMWs held together until about 50k miles before you had any issues. I am very disappointed with the quality of my car. Don't get me started on the resale value, what a joke!
I know you will all pile up on me now and tell me that your car is fantastic, I am glad you have had a positive experience. I am only sharing with you what mine has been. NEVER AGAIN!

I drive it every day, my office is very close. My long hauls usually require use of my pick up.

Same here. You have no choice but to send it to service until they finally can fix it.
Did they fix yours? I came away with no confidence in the repairs. Like I said, two weeks post purchase and nothing was fixed and it actually came back with a dent. I couldn't prove, but am certain dent was not there when it left. Car had been only to my office, literally no where else. Driver side door ding.

They fixed some of it. After 4 months and 6 failed repairs I got a lawyer.

I did not want to go down that road. I have heard about "Lemon Laws" all the time it needs to be in the shop to qualify and such. But, with the ridiculous blue book value on the car I may have to do that. It is shame, when it works correctly it truly is an amazing vehicle. Just over engineered, too complex. Where are you located? If you are in S. California can you recommend your attorney? Thanks, it is nice to hear I am not the only unhappy customer.

You must know you are not the only one. After 1 ½ years of ownership & 3 months of trying to sell it without an offer it ended up totaled, not intentionally. We now have an Ioniq 5 that we are extremely happy with. Unlike the Lucid it does what it is supposed and we love it. We did not enjoy the Lucid to but truly it does not ride or drive nearly as well as the Lucid.

Thanks for the response. I don't do much social media, as you can see I joined this in March of 2025 and this is my first post. This is common then? a great idea that was/is poorly executed. What a shame, you could literally buy two Ioniq 5s for the cost of a lucid.
Good for you that you were able to extricate yourself from what I fear is only going to be a bigger headache as time goes by.

I’m glad you like your Ioniq 5. I did not like ours, and we sold it for the Gravity.

Just goes to show, lots of cars for different people!

This is definitely a fixable issue. You need your latches replaced. They can even do it via mobile service.

Get it fixed. This is also very fixable.

Lower your steering wheel. The driver monitoring camera is behind it. If the camera cannot see your face, your steering wheel is too high.

Works perfectly, but only in lit conditions; that is, daytime. If yours doesn’t work at all, you have a camera issue.

Remove and re-add your phone.

That’s super weird. The Air is renowned for its extremely quiet and tight NVH, and it definitely shouldn’t squeak or groan.

There is play in the steering at slow speed like when making a left turn at a light.
What do you mean by “play”? It should feel very tight, but it tightens up in Swift/Sprint even more.

Please don’t do things like this; it is not beneficial to assume people are going to be combative about your experience. We look down on that here greatly; but we also look down on jumping to conclusions. :)

Anyway, I’m sorry you’ve had a rough experience. It does sound like most of your issues are very fixable with a single service visit though, so at least that’s good.

Borski, thanks for the response. You say it is fixable, I don't dispute that, what I am telling you is it went back to the dealer 2 weeks after purchase for fixing and it came back exactly the same. Camera issues? maybe, I don't know, all I know it is intermittent. Funny thing about Android Auto, worked when I drove to lunch two hours ago without it being removed and re-added. Body flex, I agree it is very weird, a car with 12K miles should still be tight as a drum. When I say play in the steering, I mean slack. You can feel a physical bump when you turn the wheel and the servo/actuator (not sure of what actually-I assume steer by wire) engages during the act of turning.
I will take it back to the dealer, I was planning on addressing all of these issues at 12K miles anyway. Wish me luck!
