Torpedoing the initial, highly anticipated 70 MPH range test was a crappy way to do it IMO. It was gonna be a letdown range number for Rivian regardless, but inviting the Tesla army to pile on made it 3x worse.
- On sci-fi controls, are you referring to something like analogue door handles and analogue controls? I recall during the investor presentation, Derek Jenkins mentioned that midsize will be having old-school analogue door handles. As for the infotainment, there will be a touch screen, but they did highlight that there will be physical buttons as well

Its not just ground clearance, for real off-roading they may have to redesign the motors. R2 has good stall torque for crawling, but will similarity not drive at high speeds well or do anything competitive efficiently. The more off-road cars would need different motor design, or a vastly different gear ratio or potentially 2 speed gearbox which isn't something Lucid has wanted to do. Or they will not do that extent of off-roading and just try to do Honda Passport/Bronco Sport level of off-roading and compensate with fancy motor control and TC which may work well enough.

I'm guessing the prototypes (which are typically built by hand) are built in the US, so any that exist may be mostly (or all) here.
I think we are a long way away from SOP. They've passed engineering and validation of prototypes; they'll start making build validation units on an assembly line (not necessarily in Saudi Arabia but with production assembly line equipment), then pre-series production which stays within the company, then finally SOP with salable units.
Which could be why they aren't leaking (or just outright showing) hardly anything yet... because they have a lot of work to do. Learning from the Gravity launch where they got way ahead of themselves and wasted much of the hype by not having the vehicle ready yet.

They are targeting 4.5 miles/kWh so why would 400 miles be out of the question? They 100% will have one it will just be a launch edition or something that will be priced higher than 50k but under 60k in my opinion.
I dont remember where I saw it, but whatever it was I saw, it made me think 90% they will have a digital rearview camera.
I can see 400 miles at a larger battery size trim like for grand touring, probably not on a lower trim though. I am assuming that LFP could be an option for lower trims to get the price point. I do recall seeing LFP positions in the Lucid job portal a very long time back, though who knows if that decision has changed
Personally I'm hoping that the rear wind shield is either one very large piece that extends below the rear spoiler or there's two pieces to the rear window. At least these are what I'm hoping for based on the patent images published a while back
I hope they reveal both at the same time and start selling them close together or else they are going to leave money on the table.
I honestly think that would be fine as long as it guarantees a flawless launch. Might as well rip the bandaid off now if this is even remotely an issue. I actually think the main thing will be this stupid war more than the management change.
