Driving Awareness issues after update?

I received some new information from a Lucid customer care representative today when I called about issues with my 3.6 software and Hands-Free Driving Assist. My Hands-Free feature has been inconsistent, at best, since I installed 3.6 last Friday - it breaks, briefly fixes itself, then breaks again, and is currently not working.

Customer care mentioned another over-the-air update is expected in a couple of days, which ‘he thinks’ should resolve my (our) issue. Fingers crossed!
Niceee. Looking forward to it.
My driver awareness is off all time, or on all the time just once or goes off within 5 mins.

I updated to 3.6 last night, and drove my car for about 1.5 hours today, and am having issues with driving awareness not detecting my face. I don’t THINK it’s a matter of giving the car time to calibrate sensors, because I drove well over a half hour on highways so far.

Things I’ve tried:
Wiping the camera;
Adjusting the visor so the camera isn’t hit by glare
Adjusting my seat to make sure the camera sees my face (it never had issues before, but thought it was worth a try);
Reboots (2x)
Letting the car enter deep sleep and returning after 40 minutes

After letting the car deep sleep and returning, the Driving Awareness worked for about 2 minutes, then went back to saying it was disabled.

Any thoughts ? I want to make sure I’m not missing anything before I bother the service department.
This is exactly what I am going through as well. It’s been weeks since I installed and the issue hasn’t gone away.

Interesting!

Got the report back on my GGT. They could replicate the issue (dda getting triggered, then never turning back off), but couldn’t figure out what was causing it (no faults reported in diagnostic stuff.) They ended up replacing the whole camera, and said it fixed it. I pick the car up after the weekend, so I’ll be able to test it out then.

I’m reaaaaaaally looking forward to the hands free stuff working.

Update:

Just picked up my GGT from the SC. Everything is working great. The DDA notifications don’t come on now 🥳.

Huh so it sounds like it may be a hardware issue? I was hoping it was just software and would be fixed ota soon :( I’m still having the issue constantly.

For those of us with Hands-Free Drive Assist, Distracted Driver Alert, and Drowsy Driver Alert ‘FEATURE UNAVAILABLE’ issues…I spoke with Lucid Customer Care again today about the reported OTA 3.6.2 bug fix and was told it is already being deployed.

Anyone receive it yet?

Nope.
Had a key fob update today.

Nothing on bug fix

Don't think its a hardware.
How can it pop up only after the 3.6 update for so many folks?
Hoping it's a software bug.

Today My Gravity Touring is also in service center. Hopefully I will also have resolution soon.

Possibly? They replaced my camera and it worked fine all day so far. That said, it did start when I installed 3.6, and they only replaced the camera because they couldn’t figure out what else it could be.

Adding to the list of Gravity GT owner’s whose Dream Drive handsfree is not working due, to the “Distracted driver” warning basically always on. I tried on/off sunglasses/reading glasses, changed seat and steering wheels position etc. to no avail. Yesterday, randomly the handsfree came on, while on the freeway and lasted about 5min, before the DD warning appeared on the dash. A bit frustrated, hoping for a resolution from Lucis soon.

You're not alone, I've been experiencing the exact scenario you described ever since I moved to 3.6 nearly a month ago. I can't wait to get this issue resolved so I can enjoy the new Hands-Free
Drive Assist feature!

We appreciate everyone sharing their experience with driver monitoring not working. We are working on a fix but don't have a specific timeframe for availability at this time. We look forward to sharing more information when it becomes available.

Interesting. I would say the driver monitor awareness is hyper vigilant - like too aggressive. But, it hasn’t made self driving unusable for me. It just means I really have to keep my eyes on the road. Which is probably what’s it’s supposed to do. 😏

But I do think it’s too “strict”. They’ll keep working on it and get the right balance. Sounds like they are aware of the issue where it really is impeding use for folks and they’re on it.

Software…unfortunately, I think Lucid is incurring a LOT of hardware replacement costs when it’s actually software that’s driving the issue (see what I did there). But the SC folks don’t seem familiar enough with the software or its challenges and tend to just lean on a hardware change. Which doesn’t really solve it (in my experience).

Exact same experience. I received my Lucid one week ago. Once or twice I have seen the eye sensor error light go away and handsfree come available for a few minutes

Are you saying your Dream Drive Pro hands free is working without your eye sensor working?

Are you saying your Dream Drive Pro hands free is working without your eye sensor working?
No. I am saying DDPro hands free is working perfectly AND the eye monitor works well. It’s just very sensitive and warns me very quickly if I look away. But if I am watching the road, it’s great and there’s no false warnings. Drove 650 miles last week or so on highways and it worked perfectly.
