Anybody have the AndroidAuto update where it will fill up the full screen now?

I think you can manually download the pre-release and side load it. Make sure you download it from a legit site as that will be at your own risk.
 
It'll also come with much improved map graphics, and possibly Dolby Atmos capability.
 
It should work with the Air as well.
But I haven't read if any vehicle software updates are needed to accommodate it.

I remember reading in the announcement that it required both an update to the app and a vehicle OTA

That might not be true, since @kandid hasn’t had any special OTAs from Lucid.

It's also possible that Lucid has already implemented and OTA'd any changes that were necessary.

Just to clarify, the improved map graphics are a separate enhancement that comes directly through the Google Maps app update, rather than the Android Auto integration itself.

Thanks. Was curious about this. I'm on Android 17 beta 4.1 and the latest Android Auto beta, the latest Google Play Services beta, the latest Google app beta and a number of other Google betas, with a Pixel 9XL Pro, and this explains things.

You're right. The confusion likely stems from the fact that Android Automotive Embedded was also demonstrated during the same 2026 I/O demo, which requires an OEM-side update. In our scenario, however, both the applications and the composing reside on the phone.

I took a look at your profile but couldn't find the pics people mentioned, do you have a link?
I guess access to this internal beta is only available to a select few?

I can't say anything about Apple Maps since I haven't used an iPhone in a long time, but if we're comparing the built-in Lucid navigation, Waze, and Google Maps, the latter wins for me by a landslide. I used to like Waze at one point, but now that Maps has added user alerts, and especially after the recent UI updates, I only use Maps. I only rely on the built-in nav for long road trips when I need to route around charging stops, but even then, I double-check everything because I’ve run into situations a few times where it tried to route me through a closed road.

FWIW, on the Air I have 2.9.0, and I have the Android Auto beta from Jun 11 (17.1.662404-release) and it does NOT use the full screen yet.
