picking up tomorrow....

Update update…. Still no car. Went to pick it up because no one would return my texts or calls.

When I showed up they said “we are having a problem getting the software to load and now are getting drive unit errors.” When last was “the guys are finishing up a couple things and then we need to drive it to EA and make sure the new battery will fast charge”

My nice is running out…. 8 large pizzas and $100 bagels and $100 in donuts….. I bought the team… trying to be kind and get the best attention…coming up on 40 days there… I’m over buying food!

I don’t know… as a service manager I might get my best guys on it and get on the phone with Lucid…

Mind you this is the same guys that said I need to buy a new TCU in order to update…. Obviously it was more than that.

I text close to 5 asking “may I please get an update?”
Service manager’s response: “ as of now, no new updates. Will know more tomorrow.”

What does time fix that it hasn’t in the last 40 days.

Sorry just venting….

There are forum reports all over the place about that Drive Unit Error after update too.

Lucid seems to be getting worse. Edited for objectivity.

There is noting objective about your posts, almost pure negativity based on your bad experience that is not shared by all.

Back on track. If these reports are correct, then I and possibly macrocosmcwh are having some good luck.

That error is significant, but imagine getting it after our cars are released and then having to wait a month for a service spot, and perhaps another month for repair.

So, maybe socktucker is pointing out a real stroke of luck having service people witnessing and immediately working on an emerging issue.

(Or may I am just a glass-half-full kind of guy as tmichael said elsewhere.) :)

I meant that in the way that his car isn’t isolated, it’s a known issue with a known fix! That’s the kind of problem you want!

It’s a lack of communication that is driving me nuts!

Say…. There is a problem… we know what it is and know how to fix it. Or we have never seen it before but we have a team a lucid working directly with our tech to correct it and they won’t stop working until it is resolved.

Or say here is the phone number of the people that will make sure you are happy or buy this turd back! Hahaha but saying nothing…. Makes me nervous.
Like they broke something and are scambling to fix it!

I honestly can’t believe what you guys are willing to put up with.

Ok just got a message from Jon at Lucid Service (assistant manager) his text reads: "Looks like vehicle will be completed today. We just performed the alignment and need to go to EA. Tyler is back today and I will have him update you when complete."

This is the same Jon that said yesterday "We have had multiple software install failures and cannot get the system to update, we also have drive unit faults. the OTA team is working on getting the software issue corrected we THINK that has to do with the drive unit faults."

and last night sent me a message "as of now no new updates. I will know more tomorrow"

For the record my app still shows that I am UX 0.0.1 and that it is "Your software is up to date"

I had a thought. Lucid said they would push out software that would identify cars with the recalled drive unit. So it makes sense if they did the software, and it said defective drive unit afterwards, then it’s one of the recalled ones, right?

oh no.... the only thing they have to do is go to EA and make sure it charges.... No drive unit replacement mentioned... smh

oh also..... Here is your bill for the TCU that needed to be replaced and wont be covered under warranty because the software was not updated within 30 days of it coming out, and we cant get the software to install in your car and we dont know why. but you need to pay for this unit that will fix it but doesnt actually fix it.

This is why I lemon-lawed. Completely unserious behavior from a car company.

I truly want this company to make it…. I know how much it costs to LL a car…. I just pray we can find a solution.

It should start with “we are not going to charge you for TCU OR THE CCC V2 so sorry for the inconvenience.

FYI, mods cannot ignore. Also, nobody was bullying.

The 30 days wasn’t the issue; the update was available for many months before it got turned off. There were ample warnings to the owners. It would have been difficult to miss unless someone were literally avoiding it.

You bought a car with a bad TCU, same as you might have bought a car with a broken window regulator or a trunk that won’t open. The prior owner simply did not care enough about it to fix it or take care of it; that is not on Lucid.

The rest (loading software, etc.) is on Lucid and would fall within warranty. As previously discussed, it isn’t absurd that the TCU replacement isn’t under warranty, if it was due to neglect by the prior owner.

Ok, NOW you’re just singing an old, sad song you’ve already sung. 😂
