2024 Air Touring with all the speakers but no option to upgrade to Surreal Sound Pro

2024 Lucid Air Touring
I have a 2024 Lucid Air Touring (bought used from a non-Lucid dealer) and it has the speakers near the head in the pillars near the passenger and drivers door. I figured that meant it had Surreal Sound hardware and that if it didn't have Surreal Sound Pro I could upgrade it. I looked at tons of 2024 Air Touring and some have these speakers and some don't. Mine does have the speakers but I don't have Surreal Sound Pro and when I look on my Lucid account it's not listed as an upgrade. I do have DreamDrive Pro but I'm disappointed I can't add Surreal Sound Pro.

Why would my car have the speakers but no chance to upgrade when other 2024's lack the speakers completely? Did they save time and money by changing the assembly run at some point by putting the speakers in every single car but the ones without SSP lack the wiring or something? Is it possible mine are upgradable and the website is wrong? Thanks!

you may have to call in. It may be linked to the old owner's account and lucid will need to de-activate it on theirs and activate it on yours.

One of the issues i had when i bought mine (used, not from lucid) is hands free would never work and it wasn't listed as an upgrade nor available when i logged in. It was like that for a long time. Marqie (and/or someone else) looked into it from lucid and the DDPro was still linked to the original owner's account. They activated it on mine and now it mostly works (it comes on about 75% of the time, but I think that's more of an issue with the dream drive stuff rather than the activation stuff). I believe SSPro acts the same way as DDPro so you may have to call them and/or ask them to do this (if the call centre rep doesn't, maybe reach out to Marqie?)

Man I passed on a really nice Touring because it didn’t have SSP it had the speakers but didn’t have the SSP. Had I known it could be activated after the fact I would have bought that car! Bummer! :) haha

yeah the big thing is having the hardware for SSP/DDP. If you have that, there's a way to make it work from what I understand
 
I had to schedule mobile service for something else and explained my speaker situation over the phone. The rep things they make all 2024 Touring's with pillar posts with the speakers near ear level but he's guessing there is not actual hardware behind them. This does sound correct to me as the car has all the speakers required for SSP. I can't imagine they put all those in with no actual speakers. Who is Marqie? How would I reach out to him? Thank you!

Before I bought my car, I noticed some used ones, but they didn't have all the features I wanted. I asked the folks in the Newark showroom, and although they clearly wanted me to buy a new car, they also recognized that people will buy used cars, and that used cars sitting unsold is bad for business. I gave them the vin of a car for sale and they looked it up. They confirmed that it had the hardware for the sound upgrade, and told me that it would be possible if I paid for it. I don't recall whether they gave a specific price. They might have, but I don't remember what it was. My vague recollection was that it was more than the cost of getting the option with the car.

In any event, it became a moot point when I bought a new car. As far as the level of care they give to used car buyers, it depreciates my car more if I know that a future buyer can expect less from Lucid, so I hope they take care of all owners.
 
To close the loop on this, Marqie looked it up and I don't have the necessary hardware for SSP even though it looks like I do. They must have shared some trim parts between the surreal sound and surreal sound pro so mine is likely hollow behind the trim where a speaker should be.
