2023 Lucid Air Touring
I bought a 2023 Lucid Air Touring on 4/29. I live in Alabama, and bought the vehicle from a used car dealer in Jacksonville, FL. It was about 470 miles away. They had 98 pictures and quality video of the vehicle on their website. The car looked to be in excellent condition, with 27k miles on it. I asked several times, if they could send any pictures of damage, before i pulled the trigger. They assured me the car was clean. So, I buy it. It was exactly what i was looking for. We agreed on shipping the vehicle, and I paid for that separately. This was around the time when gas prices exploded, and they couldn't find anyone to accept the load, for the rate I had already paid. So, I had them refund my shipping costs, and I flew down to get the car. When I got there the car looked just like the pictures. There was knick in the windshield, which is kinda a big deal, because it has the glass canopy. I knew I could get that fixed, so I wasn't too worried. There was also a "Drive System Warning" on. I called Lucid, and they said there weren't any faults showing, but I needed to transfer ownership before they could do anything. I send them all the documentation, and since the car drove fine, I start out on my journey home. I make it home, the car is driving fine. I'm loving every minute of it. After a few calls back to customer care, I finally get the ownership transferred. It took about a week. Once I did that I reset everything in the car, because the previous owner's profile was still attached. The "Drive System Warning" went away at this point. The next day Lucid calls and says my battery may be out out balance, and they want to bring the car in. I was a little bummed, but figured it would be good to go in to service, since i just got it, and they could give it a once over. Tow company picks the car up a few days later. I think I drove it for 10 days. The have the car for 2 weeks, with very minimal contact from them. The car was towed in on a Tuesday, and I didn't hear from anyone until Saturday, and that was after several calls to the service center, and finally calling customer care. They said the tow company had just dropped the car, without leaving the key, and they didn't realize it was there for a few days. The battery ends up balancing fine. They do a couple of recalls on a seat bracket or something, and an update on the BMS. I don't hear anything until the following Saturday. They call telling me everything they had done, and I should be getting the car back in a couple of days. I get the car back the following Tuesday morning, about 9am. As I'm leaving Enterprise after dropping the rental off, I get a "Reduced Power Warning". I call Lucid Customer Care, and of course they say, we'll have to come back and get it. They've had the car for about 10 days, and I get a call this past Friday letting me know that they are going to replace the rear drive unit. It will take 5 days for the unit to ship from AZ, so that's another week without my car. I am grateful that all of these issues are being discovered now, while the car is still under warranty. I'm also grateful to have a ride, while its in service, although I wish it were at least another EV, considering how high gas is. At this point Lucid has had the car longer than I have. I'm hoping I get the car back next week, and this will be the last of my service visits for a while. I forgot to mention, I'm about 3 hours away from the nearest service center. I really enjoyed the car on my 470 mile drive home, and the few days I did get to drive it. I'm hoping my Lucid ownership days will end much better than they have started...

a few things stick out, if it was an Air Pure, there was a software update that came out Friday that bricked some of them, then they pushed an update that fixed them, so that might have happened. rare, but not impossible.

if that wasn't it, I would suspect the used car dealer of resetting the car to clear errors before you got it. sounds like they didn't even logout the prior owner.

as far as service goes, I have had both good and bad.

Keep gas receipts, Lucid always pays me back since there are no EV to rent here

It is an Air Touring. The actually got it a couple of days before the 2.9 update came out. I will definitely keep my gas receipts, and try to get reimbursed for that. Thanks.

Atlanta service center is fantastic in my experience. They make things work, and the new center is a huge boon.

You have a 2023 model, and with so few miles, you are likely to encounter a few rough edges initially. Most of mine came and were fully resolved by 30k miles for a GT and GT-P that were 2023 model years.

Let's hope this is the last of my issues, for a while. I haven't given up hope, because I really like the car. The service center in Roswell was a little more communicative this 2nd time.

Welcome, and what a beauty! I am in something of a similar situation since getting a long backlog of things fixed, but I take comfort that the solid team at Lucid are making sure my car is good for long haul. I sure you will enjoy yours in the same way; definitely worth the wait.

I sure hope so!

Lucid called yesterday and said the car was ready. The inverter on the rear drive unit was the culprit. The whole thing had to be replaced because you can't get the inverter separately. They also did the 2.9 update, and said they would test it for a couple of days to make sure everything was good. Hope to get her back on tomorrow.
