Very cool, happy to see legit release notes. The Purelux LED change is interesting, I guess that was a business decision rather than a technical decision all along.

Good update, by cabin ventilation why only EU and KSA? Odd that Lucid AMP1 turns hotter than any place in EU 🥵
I saw that also, why EU and KSA only?. I would think majority of Air is in the U.S. I was in AZ couple days ago and I left the windows open a little.

I remember my last Audi’s fob was capable of opening and closing the windows. But only in the EU as well. I had to hack into my port to get it working on my car here.

I wonder if it’s some sort of weird US regulation thing?

the US has regulations related to how long a vehicle can roll down the windows after a power off, something like that. I remember it when I was importing a JDM car it was an issue. It might be mobile key required here, because my BMW and Tesla can both do it.

Yup.

Under FMVSS 118, car manufacturers are allowed to offer remote window closing, but only if they meet strict safety criteria. The regulation generally prohibits windows from closing remotely unless one of the following conditions is met:

  • Line-of-Sight & Distance (6 Meters): A remote device (like a key fob) can close windows if it requires continuous activation (you have to keep holding the button) and is incapable of closing them from more than 6 meters (approx. 20 feet) away. This ensures the operator is close enough to see if anyone is in the way.
  • Obstruction/Anti-Pinch Sensors: Manufacturers can allow "one-touch" remote closing (where you just click once and they go up) if the vehicle is equipped with an automatic reversal system. This system must detect an obstruction (like a finger or arm) and immediately reverse the window's direction before it exerts a certain amount of force.
  • The "Opaque Surface" Rule: If the remote device and the vehicle are separated by an opaque surface (like a wall), the remote closing must be disabled or meet even more stringent "anti-pinch" requirements to ensure a child hasn't been left in the car while someone closes the windows from another room.

The phone app is now giving warnings about doors being open after each time I get out of the car. Fun. I don’t not have 2.9, but I did get the updated app. It also can’t get the charging status from the car. I wonder if all this broken connectivity will be fixed once the vehicle gets the update

Two different sources. The updated app comes from Apple/Google. The updated software comes from Lucid. You don't need one to have the other, but it seems that some features of the latest app update won't be available until you update your car. We haven't seen anybody get the 2.9.0 as per Lucid Tracker but I'm sure it will start rolling out soon.

I tried destination sharing from Apple Maps and from the Lucid app. It says destination sharing is 'temporarily unavailable'. So no go. Release notes don't indicate the new firmware is needed. Has anyone else tried it. Doesn't work here. (Arizona).

Mine will occasionally tell me that my windows are down. But they aren’t, the charge port is open and the genius software considers the windows open.

I have this after updating my mobile app. I can see my car in the app. Need to check the car in the morning.

It looks like this is a bug. We have seen this in some folks but the car is properly connected. Logging out and logging back in doesn't seem to solve it. It is inconsistent, though because others are not experiencing that problem.

This may be related to the car update. I have the same thing in my phone app. I’m waiting to see if updating the car to 2.9.0 will fix it. My guess is it will.

Of course, I’ll need 2.9.0 to be pushed to my car first… I’m guessing it soon will be.

Window controls via mobile app would be a useful feature. Why would it be limited to EU and KSA I wonder.

I checked my car. It’s logged in and working fine. But the app message persists. For now.

I really don't think Lucid can afford to keep putting out crummy updates. This stuff creates really bad word of mouth.. I figured this update would reflect the management changes. I was thrilled to hear sending destinations to the car was fixed, but as I noted earlier it's still broken. Sigh.
