For some reason it's also not spelled out in the owner's manual. It shouldn't be a secret, but sometimes appear to be.
Well that would truly suck. This would be the first premium car I have ever heard of with effectively no seat memory.
My wife is an occasional driver of my cars, and we have never setup profiles, because it just hasn't made sense. Especially with PaaK, and I am almost always with her.
If it was just a soft button that is quick to access, no big deal. But, if there is no Memory 2, and she would have to do multiple taps to select a different profile, that would be an ugly user experience. A separate profile forces a change of everything, when only the seat is the thing that needs to change.

Technically, if you push a front door handle in against the motor, the car will lock, but the implementation is atrocious. Half the times, the extend motor starts fighting you and the car won't lock. Sometimes it locks and immediately unlocks. It's comically stupid.
All they needed was this, a touch area to lock the car.
I absolutely hate the idea of walking away, just to be anxiously looking back at the car to confirm it has locked.
Do the mirrors fold when you lock? That is the visual cue I use to know my current car locked.

Yes, they do. No sound feedback though.
The other reason that I prefer to lock myself is that audio keeps playing until you lock the car. That's annoying when you're listening to a podcast.

I'd call the Gravity a mid-size SUV. It's a slightly bigger width and length than a Toyota Highlander. I'd call something like a Toyota Rav4 a compact SUV. It'll be very interesting to see the dimensions of the Cosmos when specs for that become available, but I assume that it will be a smaller vehicle. I note that a BMW iX3 is roughly midway between the Highlander and the Rav4, and that size seems a more probable Cosmos size than the Rav4's dimensions.

You didn't say exactly when you wish to purchase, but I'm assuming right at the end of the year when your current lease expires. In that time frame, I think the Gravity is a great option for you. As has been noted, the mechanical design is absolutely world class. The software has left something to be desired. But towards the end of last year, Lucid really recognized the problem, and have been trying hard to improve the software. I refused to take delivery of my Gravity Grand Touring order in December, because there were too many bugs for me to be comfortable with a GGT as my only vehicle. Since that time, Lucid has made some significant improvements, releasing multiple OTAs. I don't think they're yet where they really need to be, but I see signs of real progress. By the end of this year we can expect to see multiple additional OTAs, and I think the software will be quite substantially improved. I'm hanging out here because I'm expecting to buy a 2027 GGT some time this summer.

Nope. Everything stays on until you lock. HVAC, audio, lights.

Just double checked. Definitely only one driver seat setting and three for passenger. If you tap save on the driver side it just saves, passenger pops up the pictured three setting choices.
I’m not sure if having separate profiles switches automatically based on assigned keys/cards/PaaK when it comes as I’m the only driver of mine.

My lease is up end of December. So, I figure that if I need to order a car, I will need to make a decision around October to allow time. If I had to buy one today, it seems like there is ample inventory on lots. But that may be different when the 2027s are coming out.
That is why I am starting early, so see what the gremlins are, decide if I am OK with them, and then see how much progress Lucid makes getting things sorted.
I was on the Lyriq waitlist for over a year before I gave up. That car turned out to be a massive hardware and software dumpster fire. It still is, after more than three years. Lucid's worst day would be better than the best day Cadillac Lyriq owners have had.
Bummer. We would not use separate profiles linked to keys, because we do not use keys, and I am the only one with PaaK. Very rarely, when I am not around, my wife might grab a key to drive my car, but I don't think that has happened in a couple years.
Small correction. This works whether you have passive locking or not. As long as the key fob is in range you can quickly and firmly depress either driver's or front passenger's door handle to lock or unlock the car.
If you don't change much then you probably won't benefit much from having separate profiles, but I still don't believe this is a big deal. Setting up profiles is not hard, but might be annoying to sign in to all services you care about (like Spotify etc.) twice. You can assign key fobs and key cards to profiles so it should load the correct profile depending on the key used. Manually swapping the profile is also easy in my opinion. In the top screen you touch profile avatar and click on the profile you want to load. You might need to type profile PIN to load it. It load pretty fast and should immediately load seat and steering wheel positions (unless your door is open and you have easy entry enabled).
Tesla is like that too tho.

Why not set up profiles and save some pain? Sure it’s a few taps to change profiles, but it’s pretty easy to do.
My wife has driven the gravity exactly once, but I still set up a profile for her. It’s not only seat settings, but side mirror position, steering wheel position, infotainment settings, DDPro and safety setting, driving preferences, and maybe custom button settings (I didn’t check).

Yep, that seems like the only available path. My annoyance with profiles is that they change everything (HVAC, Infotainment, dash layout, lighting, etc,.) when the only thing we need is driver position.

Not so much with the Gravity really as there's no dash layout customization and lighting only uses a few preset color schemes.
