Is it possible to prevent every thread from becoming a bed for armchair CEO and Engineers? Everyone here is invested in Lucid one way or the other; granted constructive criticisms is a great tool for progress. We can all see that every single thread get hijacked by couple of people who keep spreading the same rhetoric of how bad Lucid is. I don't believe that's the purpose of this forum, and if admins don't do anything about it; you might actually drive away all the people with measured, objectives comments, or posts only to help others.

While I sympathize with everyone that has issues, some very serious, it's definitely becoming a problem. The one person that's literally post bombing practically every thread with either snide remarks, misinformation, gross generalizations, or just to pile on how bad he has it (no, some have had it worse) is getting incredibly tedious. I get it, you had a lot of inexcusable issues, but reminding us dozens of times a day does not help. We get the message, you had some horrible experiences. Suck it up and stop the constant negativity. We get it, you told your story (dozens of times), but continuing a bunch of useless posts does not help anybody. If the goal is to drive people away from the Forum, they may be succeeding at that, not much else.

On the other side, @hmp10 has suffered as much or more than anyone, yet keeps it civil and classy, despite having gone through (and continuing to) more than anyone should ever have to. Nuff said.

Concur!! We get it and belive me, we wish all our experiences could be amazing with all aspects of Lucid but as said, it's never anything constructive. Just the same bashing and retelling over and over and many of us are tired of it. I use the block for a couple accounts but I really don't want that. On topic if we can and if there's more bashing you would like to do, you can start new threads for that too!

Thanks for sharing your concerns. I completely understand the frustration, and you're not the first to feel this way. A couple of thoughts.

Our moderator team is a small group of volunteers, each with a full life outside the forum, so we can't catch everything in real time. The best thing any member can do when something crosses a line is to use the Report button. Those reports go straight to us, and we act on them promptly.

That said, this is an open forum, and we generally err on the side of letting members speak freely. We only remove posts for personal attacks, unnecessary political rhetoric, or clear violations of our community guidelines. Being critical of Lucid, even repeatedly or loudly, isn't against the rules, even if it can be tiring to read.

You're absolutely right that a few members seem convinced they know how to run a car company better than the people actually running it. It's frustrating, I agree. But a certain amount of that comes with the territory of any enthusiast forum, and the best antidote is usually more voices like yours adding balanced, constructive discussion.

Thanks again for caring enough to speak up. It's members like you who keep this community worth being part of.

In light of the moderator's stance (which I think is reasonable), it seems the main remedy is to block the couple of people who are constantly hijiacking threads. However, this won't be a complete cure to the problem, because others do inevitably respond to the hijacking comments, and you'll still see that.

There are a couple that, IMO, have crossed the line and turned into trolls. It is important to have all points of view in forums such as these, but trying to get revenge on a company with a constant diatribe definitely drags down this forum. I find myself spending less time on this forum now because of this, and that's a shame, because I have learned a lot here, and we definitely have a very strong group of mature, intelligent members here.

I lurked here and elsewhere for weeks before I decided to ignore the trolls and take a chance. So glad I did. My Gravity is a brilliant bit of engineering and it makes me smile whenever we drive it. I, for one, am here to support the brilliant bits of Lucid while they sort out all the rough spots and details.

Thanks for the feedback. We will strive harder to keep threads on track.

Perhaps it’s time to update the guidelines a bit?

I value openness, freedom of speech, and healthy debate. I abhor any attempt at censorship. Contributing positive/negative experiences on the topic at hand is very welcome and valuable. In addition, there is always going to be some meandering of threads as natural conversation flows introduce closely related topics.

If someone wants to create a thread on Lucid bashing and the reasons to stay away, have at it. If someone wants to create a thread loving Lucid, go for it. That’s openness and allowing members to speak freely.

However, I am also seeing repeated hijackings of threads with posts that are off-topic, give zero additional value, and serve as nothing more than an opportunity for individuals to broadly preach the same message over and over. Frankly, it gets tiresome.

Should we let this forum become dominated by a small set of individuals using thread after thread as a pulpit, in the name of openness and letting members speak freely? Or do we want to protect openness and freedom of expression by preventing a few “loud” voices from hijacking threads and drowning other voices?

It is a really, really tough thing to control others. We all know that.

I'm guilty of meandering from the original poster comments - I'll try to be better. But, I hesitate to have even more, separate posts, because there are so many items that already have a relevant discussion going on, even if stale at the moment, that people could add on to. New posts on old subjects dilutes ready access to the subject matter and makes it more difficult to find important material on the subject at hand.

But, I will self-police and try harder. It is a fabulous forum and I have had to stop picking on my wife for the time she spends on social media - because, I'm always on the forum. Dream Ahead!

We certainly don’t want to control others, and meandering, itself, is not the problem. This is a natural human tendency and we’ve all done this, myself included.

A key characteristic of forum spam: Repetitive: The same message posted across many threads.

We are being hit by forum spam by a small group of individuals. Can the moderators help to stamp out forum spam?

This is actually already in the guidelines:
Please do not post the same post in multiple threads; minor paraphrasing falls into this as well. Please refrain from “shouting” by posting an issue multiple times on multiple threads.

For every troll that gets dealt with by a mod another one will eventually come up and just becomes a game of whack a mole for the mods. I think the best course of action for those getting annoyed by particular individuals is to simply block them.

This may eventually come to pass, where we lose the battle to control spam, but I don’t think we are at that point with this forum. Maybe it’s something to look forward to - we’ll have millions of subscribers because they own Lucids 🤣 (hijack warning - just making a joke - let’s not get into the pros and cons of Lucid - plenty of threads for that!)

I still value the opinions of those individuals and want to hear them - just not over and over again on multiple threads. Also, we still end up seeing quotes and responses to the spam.

Thank you, moderators, for listening to this feedback.

Yeah, that's true buddy.

I have never actually tried it but can’t we click on a user’s avatar and hit “ignore” to silence the trolling noise?

Yep. It's not perfect, but it works pretty good. I have done it for a couple, but I am going to unblock them in the hopes this thread and it's intention reaches them and they take appropriate change action.

The problem is that unless you've already logged in before perusing the forum, no post is ignored. Usually I don't bother to log in unless I want to comment on an existing thread or post a new one.

If the offending posters get the hint, great, but somehow I doubt it. Just like if the concerns were real, they would have already used the lemon law and be done with it.
