My Gravity is slated to be picked up tomorrow for a 2nd row seat replacement. I called to confirm this with the service center, and yes the indeed will pick up the Gravity. I also asked about an Air loaner, and was told none are available. A luxury car will be provided via Enterprise rental.

I then asked how long the Gravity would be gone. I was told OVER 30 days. I then asked, well if its OVER 30 days, I can't imagine that replacing seats takes 30 days. Why not just pick up the car when you have the parts on hand. I was told its not about parts is about how many cars they have lined up for service. The same questions stands, why not pick up the car when it is closer to the time to work on my Gravity.

Fine, you can't schedule your service properly whatever, that is you problem.

Then I asked the real question, what about my lease payments? Why pay for my lease when the car is stuck waiting for service for over 30 days in your service center? So my question to anyone who has been in this circumstance, has Lucid done anything for you?

I did ask my SC about this but they said they’ve never heard of anything being done. My Gravity was in service a total of 42 days over five separate times for the first four months I had it.

Yea I have an issue with this.

The problem isn't mine. Its theirs. You want to take my car, but hold it because you can't work on it. Well then why not wait until you can work on it, so that I can continue to use it? Why am I paying nearly 2k for the month when all you are going to do is put it in a parking lot? Is enterprise going to give me an equivalent 120K car to drive around?

I have a big problem with this.

Welcome to the club!

They’ll rent you a car tho

Lemon it is the only approach. If Lucid wants to keep the vehicles for such long periods of time then people can use it against them and lemon the car.

They’re not going to cover lease payments. Just like they’re not going to cover things in the lease you paid for at the time of purchase and they have failed to deliver. I’m 2 months away from being 1/3 of the way through my lease and who knows when things like AR on the HUD are going to be provided.

Agreed. I regret telling my SA I wouldn’t consider any GGT that didn’t have DD2Pro..at this point I would’ve been happy with premium and roughly 7k off of the MSRP.

Lemon law it is. Keep my car for 30 days, and I'll file a lemon law against the company. No reason for you to take the car if you can't work on it. Such a stupid idea.

Right, you get screwed on depreciation if you own while waiting for features OR you get screwed on leasing for potentially paying for things that might not be delivered during your lease.

Only one winning in all this is Lucid, they get the full sale from you either way.

I might as well email the new ceo and let him know how service is screwing shit up.
oh, they know, trust me.

Lemon Law is a lengthy process, Lucid doesn't just agree that it qualifies. Expect 6 months.

I heard they think they are doing us a favor because they can start work "immediately" when a tech's schedule opens up. Personally, I'm with you and could wait until someone is free/part is there, get a call and bring the car in the next day. Last time, they didn't look at mine for a week as it sat in the lot. I've never had this happen with our ICE cars and regular dealers.

I'm bringing in mine this week for stuff that didn't get properly fixed the first time around and I don't expect to have it back for at least two weeks. Hoping for at least some EV for the loaner but that didn't happen last time and was given a Chevy (eh, it was fine).

This is all region dependant too, for example those in the Sacramento, CA area get service within days because there just isn't the demand there.

My GGT has been in service for 3 weeks now for second row seat issues and not a peep from service.

My Gravity is the best car I have ever driven and yet if asked by someone right now if they should purchase one, I would give them a big MAYBE. It better not be your only car, you had better be very tech savvy and you had better be very patient.

When I had my RS6 and the rear-diff blew a whole with 2000 miles on it (the mechanic report literally said, there is a golf ball size whole in the diff), they had to keep the car for at least a month for getting new parts from Germany. This was one of the first RS6 in the country back then so I understood this might take time to fix. I asked about lease payments and they immediately said they would refund me the lease payment, which they did and ultimately parts came in quicker and the car was "only" gone 18 days. I have to say, I was very happy with Audi USA back then, this was one phone call.

If its a warranty replacement, I think they have to compensate you or offer you a equal car in the meantime.

Develop a relationship with your service advisor. They will work with you. I would expect that a loaner would be made available if your car is unavailable for a period of time. I've never had a problem in that regard. You might also want to speak with the service advisor on holding off on the repair until parts availability and the backlog improves.

I would not automatically assume that this situation would put you in a lemon law position. I'm sure that Lucid has contemplated the issues that may arise if cars are in for repairs for an extended period of time and how that might be treated under the lemon laws of various states. They have a legal department for a reason.

Its a HUGE difference if the leasing company is "in-house" (like Porsche-Audi) or is farmed out (like BofA doing it for Lucid) whether the car manufacturer is willing to cover lease payments for time in Service.
BofA paid Lucid in full for the car; Lucid isn't going to pay any of that back to BofA for you... dream on. If it was all under one umbrella it might be different.

Bmw did the same for me on an M6 that was awaiting a part for two months , and gave me a loaner to drive. Not another M6 though.

To be fair Licid offered me 3 mos of lease payments and a loaner to waive my lemon law complaint. I declined, but they did offer. However my situation is a bit extreme since it’s had repeated attempts for repair over the course of many months.

I had to schedule a service over a month in advance. I was then told that once I brought it in, it would sit there for two weeks. I asked what was the point of scheduling that way and got no answer. That makes no sense at all.

I got 99 problems and a loaner ain't one...I'd just take the rental and carry on with my day. You're still going from A to B and not paying extra for it. Maybe you'll benefit in the end for the month without miles being added?

Maybe but that is a month without the car you're paying for. I chose my Gravity with features for a particular reason which I can't use for that month. I'm also paying a Sirius subscription that may not be usable in a rental. In any case, it's inconvenient. A break in lease payment, a matching loaner, and/or better scheduling by Lucid might be in order.
