I suspect our Lucid Owners Forum represents only a small fraction of Lucid owners. So it's difficult to extrapolate the overall positives and negatives from Lucid owners. With that said: There are two threads. The car itself and the company responsible for the car. Most of the people on the forum are reasonably satisfied (and many are thrilled) with their Lucid Airs. The Gravity seems to have some issues at the moment. As I've previously stated, my Air Touring has caused me very few problems and I've been satisfied with the service I've received. However, to read the posts on this forum, I am terrified to continue owning a Lucid.

Service centers are few and far between and it seems from recent posts, most of them are in decline. Spare parts are scarce. Other than body work, no other non-Lucid service facility can fix a Lucid. That to me is scary. What's really alarming is being told to leave your car with the service center for two or more weeks until parts arrive or until they have technician time to work on your car. With all the previous cars I've owned, I phone the dealer who gives me an appointment within a week. If the car needs a part that's not safety related, they order the part and send me home. When it arrives they phone me to bring in the car. Unless there is a safety issue there's absolutely no reason for service to impound a car awaiting a part or minor adjustment.
I haven't been to the Goose Island, Chicago service center in almost a year, but I noticed during my last visit the place was a ghost town. One guy out front and maybe three techs working in the back. Some were prepping deliveries. I used to know the names (and cell phone numbers) of the very helpful service managers, but all are gone.
The stress of owning a car that could take three months to repair (and not from a major accident) is more than I can handle. The Air is a great vehicle. But I've never owned a car that stressed me out like this. Lucid and I will soon part.

To be fair if any company put me through what Lucid has, I’d get as far away from them as possible. Same reason I’ll never own another Infiniti.

Lucid looks like a dying company and they might be.

For someone thinking about buying a Lucid, being concerned about the state of Lucid's service is very reasonable. But if you have an Air that's trouble free and you're happy with it, I think it makes sense to sit tight and wait. Lucid's service clearly got a lot worse with the very troubled Gravity launch. While I have no inside insight, I think it's reasonable to assume they're going to try to substantially scale up their service capacity, which is obviously necessary for a successful Cosmos launch. Maybe they'll do that successfully, or maybe they won't. But if you have an Air that puts a smile on your face, give Lucid a little time and see what they do.

Why sell a car and spend another 40-50k on a new one.

Service has deteriorated, mostly due to backlog from Gravity recall. but with the new CEO, I’m optimistic he will turn it around.

These service issues with EVs are universal to any EV. Including those from even Hyundai.

As adaption grows, these problems slowly disappear.

If you live the car, I would keep it.

Service had long deteriorated before the Gravity recall. The recall is just going to make it ten times worse!

I feel it all started with the layoffs, which coincided with Gravity 29 day sale hold.
It was definitely happening before then, has just been getting progressively worse since layoffs and now recalls.

Universal to any EV? No they are not and no way to the extreme decline that people keep posting about. I know for a fact BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, Tesla, Rivian EV’s are not experiencing these service issues and have established service networks where can easily get appointments and fix issues in a timely manner.

Right now it is on Lucid who has the issues with service and if they can’t get it fixed quickly word will keep spreading how bad it is and they will not attract new consumer to buy their product. I am sure it is already affecting prospective buyers. It sure has be double thinking about buying one and I really want to buy a Lucid.

And while they are at it please fix the constant Key Fob issues I read about. I can probably handle it, but my wife would definitely not accept it if she takes my car. No excuse by Lucid to have these Key Fob issues continue with the Gravity. Never have heard of that with any car before either. Never even think about it.

Lucid needs to be attracting and retaining customers. They have the cars to do it. 🙂

I. see why you hate the company, bad experience? Mine is polar opposite.
Polite and caring, unable to fix. Heading for third month in service since October. I admit I have a resentment because I think they have such potential but can’t help but snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

...And while they are at it please fix the constant Key Fob issues I read about....
What you aren't reading about are the people who have no key fob issues, and have not ever, with 3+ years of owning an Air and now a Gravity, like me. They're not posting.
Agreed that some are having a bad experience. Not everyone.
Best to post your own direct experiences rather than reposting other's complaints.

I can’t help but think something happened around 25-26 model years that caused the problems. Some sort of hardware revision. I don’t think it’s all software.

They need to do better helping out the few? of us with issues. I have advised against buying a Lucid to every person who's asked me. I'd gladly change my attitude and perspective if they fix mine.

Car haulers at my house picking up or dropping off a Lucid every other month has made for quite the conversation on this street 🤣

On that note, I received an issue of Consumer Reports a few days ago. In the luxury electric vehicle section Lucid was dead last with a score of 14. This kind of exposure will definitely have an impact. I love my Air Touring, but also experienced a 3 week time for repair of a trunk not opening. That was after waiting for over a month for the appointment date. This does not bode well if they do not address this as a priority issue.
