I’d say layoffs to the service department are starting to have an effect…

I'm currently in arbitration for my own buyback on my '24 Air. Lucid corporate has been extremely dishonest and bad-faithy in their arguments, changing their tune every time and basically insulting the arbitrator and I'd intelligence during each call. I'm in Canada, but I imagine the process is similar where you are. Good luck.
We do not mind you posting about your problems, but it is against the guidelines to post about the same issue on multiple threads. Please keep it to a single thread.

Thanks. 🙏

Update as I prepare to send it back, they broke the clips for the rear trunk weatherstrip and just left it, found the clip for the headliner down inside the door.

Unbelievable.

Clips are broken on both sides and they didn’t replace the single use two sided tape (lol) so it’s just flapping there.

They definitely fixed the road noise tho the new door seal made it whisper quiet.

I would say that in my case Lucid has argued their position, has not been willing to buy it back without being forced to do so, regardless of the car clearly qualifying. I can also see their side of it thought. iIf I was willing to accept something else it didn’t hurt anyone for them to ask me if I would. Some people might have accepted it.

But-I have NOT found them to be rude or dishonest. Quite the opposite, so far. They’re fine.

fun update, car has won a trip to sunny Rocklin, California!

I get to spend another month (?) in a rental Hyundai

Lucid still says my car not eligable for repurchase, 2 months wasn't enough maybe 3 will be

Arbitration. I don’t know what car company would be willing to repurchase without legal ramifications.

lemon law? depending on the state, there are pretty black and white timelines that make it nearly automatic (while still fighting with the manufacturer of course)

Even Adidas is clear on this...

What state are you in? Go lemon law - this is crazy.

Dropped my Gravity off at Houston Service Center 2 weeks ago for second row seat issues as well as a couple of other smaller issues. In the time since I drove off the lot with a Mercedes loaner, I have had absolutely zero contact from Lucid. I have periodically checked location of my car via app and it has not moved from its spot in back of storage lot behind service center.

Lucid wants to compete in the luxury car market. I have driven mostly Mercedes, Audi and BMW for past 20+ years. Physically, my Gravity is very on par (and in many case better) than my past Mercedes. The service experience with Mercedes is about a 9 out of 10. For Lucid, I would give service a 3 out of 10. The only positive is that they gave me a decent loaner (Mercedes GLS 450) although I would have preferred a Lucid or other EV with current gas prices. With Mercedes I get a text within 1 hour of dropping car off with contact info from the service rep. I then get a follow up call within 24 hours, even if they for some reason have not gotten to the car yet. The rare time I have had to wait for multiple days or more than a week for repair, I would get regular updates every couple days.

Yes, my Gravity is a phenomenal car to drive but if Lucid service does not improve significantly in near future, I will drop it like a hot potato when the lease expires in 2 1/2 years (along with most other lease holders.)

This is exactly the same experience I've had with this location the first two times I've dropped my car off. All of a sudden they'll pull it out and start working on it and rush through the fixes and not do a thorough job of checking to see if everything is okay and working properly.

Yep..... It's not a good look for Lucid at all and it seems to be getting worse than better. My friend had a couple of recalls on his Rivian and also needed a steering wheel replaced due to the leather or whatever it is peeling. He dropped it off at 8am and by 11am he's getting a call to say his car is ready to pick up. If this was Lucid between 8am and 11am they would've just moved the car to the garage to sit for a week.

I won't compare to Audi, Mercedes, BMW etc. as they're very well established. have had decades to get it right and have huge dealer networks but Rivian? Started the same time as Lucid and just seem to have their shit together much better than Lucid in many areas it seems. Lucid must be creating a lemon law nightmare for themselves by keeping the cars for so long, so I don't know why they're so eager to take a vehicle and just let it collect dust for 1 to 2 weeks before even starting to work on it.

The Service Center network is nowhere near ready for the midsize unless they overhaul the entire process. As mentioned the other day, I'm not booking my car in for the recall as I don't want them to keep it for two weeks for what is probably 1 to 2 days work (being generous). It can wait until I have a list of other things that need to be addressed.

Oh yeah it’s terrible.
Add 4000 new recalls to the list and it’s just about to get worse. It’s crazy.

They got so far ahead of their ability to service these vehicles that I don’t see how it’s sustainable.

They have a very high ratio of leases to purchases, that is one of the reasons for the excessive depreciation, it'd seem that more people return the lease than paying the residual to keep the car

I have never leased a car and only did this with the Gravity due to being unsure of lifespan of the company and build quality questions on Gravity. To be honest, I have really enjoyed my GGT and with the exception of the software issues which seem to be resolving, the only semi-serious hardware issue I have had are the second row seats. I usually buy and keep 8-10 years but usually try to get max extended warranty I can get (especially as I have moved up market from Hondas/Toyotas to Mercedes/BMW). If used prices were halfway close to my residual at lease end I might be inclined to buy out, but with current state of service and Lucid not offering extended warranties, there is no way I would risk owning this car post warranty.

This is why I am afraid of even trying to schedule my annual check-up. I definitely don't want to drive 2 hours to a service center and back and spend two weeks with a loaner.

I believe leasing is more popular in the luxury space and not just specific to Lucid but there’s a good reason people are returning over paying the residual.

The residual is often more than what the car is worth and BoA won’t let you negotiate on it. If Lucid actually delivers on its promises with the Gravity I would’ve actually considered purchasing it at lease end but when I signed the leasing paperwork I laughed at the residual and though “good luck getting anywhere near that” no way will my car be worth what the residual is so it will be handed back and become BoA’s problem to deal with.

It's likely not, without hiring, which I assume is the plan.

Although it is better if you live near a service center, they still need to hire.
