Final Post – Lucid Gravity Order Experience

I’d be curious to know why those LT orders couldn’t be kept open and had to be cancelled this way. This is a decision someone somewhere had to make for some reason.

My non-varified opinion - Lucid has a large stock of unsold 2026 GGTs that it is desperate to move. It is trying to force the LT order holders to compromise on their orders and take one of these available cars that don’t meet their desired spec.

No there is literally Lucid can do about this situation. They don’t have the paint and they aren’t going to have the paint! It’s a color that is not going to exist!

Even I think that’s a stretch. Several people said it was an issue with the paint reflections, and that has also happened before with similar colors to Kia and Hyundai I believe.

If Lucid wanted to entice LT reservations holders to get an existing color I figure they would just give them a bigger discount.

Oh I totally understand that it was technical issues with paint color that caused the cancelations. But once they made decision to not produce LT, the proper option would have been to go to orders holders with LT and give them three options - (1) change current order to different color, then prioritize filling that order (no $5k discount incentive), (2) Pick from existing inventory and get $5k discount, (3) Cancel order so you can consider different brand or 2027 order.

Wow, I didn't realize they had cancelled LT. That was my original spec. Thank goodness I gave up on that a while ago, or I might literally be in the same boat as you. I would have been very frustrated to have had to settle for a less-well-specc'ed car.

Lucid refunded every Lunar Titanium order holder their $1,000 order deposit at 11:45 PM on March 31st. In the email it said the customer cancelled the order!

Dear XXXXX,

Thank you for contacting us. We understand that plans can change; we have received your request to cancel your Order# GD1XXXXX.

Based on our cancellation policy:

You are eligible for a full refund of Deposit. The refund will be processed back to your original payment method within [7-10] business days.

Feel free to reach out to your Sales Specialist for further assistance.

No there is literally Lucid can do about this situation. They don’t have the paint and they aren’t going to have the paint! It’s a color that is not going to exist!

There is more than one possible solution, and only one of them is “produce silver paint”

We were NOT given choice (1), which would have been the most fair considering everyone else got to get their configurations produced and receive the cars they ordered.
No, only (2) or (3) were offered. It was "here's a 4% discount...go pick from our scraps"!.. or here's your money back (also fair enough)

The only other lighter color was white; I can't figure out why we couldn't order it in Fathom Blue?...They'd already produced a ton of Airs with that color

Ya, @marqie stated it was from a cancelled order form letter but my guess was legal liked it worded that way
