I sat here as my friend slowly scraped my right rear wheel on a curb this morning.
Not a peep from this "capability" until the the sound and my wince.

Disappointing.

Did you have the parking cameras on? It only works when those are on, and it shows you the distance from the curb. Did you not have that visualization?

I’ve never seen it fail in normal conditions (as in, with sufficient light)

Either way, curbing a wheel sucks, I’m sorry to hear that. I’ve done it plenty, though not since curb rash alert was a thing! At least it’s fixable pretty easily; I tend to “collect” a few before I finally get it fixed :p

Yes, the cameras were all on and I watched as he got closer and no warnings until "the sound"...
Boo.

That sucks! Was it a curved curb? Just curious

Wait, is it an audible sound or just a visual warning on a screen? We don't have a bunch of curbs around here - more parking lots, less street parking...

No idea. I've never seen one! LOL
I only ever see when it's NOT available since there is red text for that.

Oh, that’s odd. I see it literally every time I park. Are you sure it’s turned on? If you never see it working (showing you the distance from the curb), you almost certainly have an issue with your cameras and service needs to check it out.

Does it play a sound?
Different from the parking sensors, right?
Ironic since I have a steep driveway so almost every time I back out it SLAMS the brakes because it thinks I'm going to hit something...
Regardless, I've already made an appointment to get it fixed as my OCD does allow me to drive around with a rim looking like that.
My friend apologized and said he'd pay for it, which is nice.

Tbh, I don’t know if it plays a sound because I never get close enough for that. It shows the distance from the curb in inches, same as front or back distance, and I just use that.

Iirc, it is the same sound as the parking sensors, but it displays the distance quite obviously to me; that’s why I think something is likely wrong. I’ll see if I can grab a video at some point, or maybe someone else can
