NEWARK, Calif., April 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Lucid Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: LCID), maker of the world's most advanced software-defined vehicles and technologies, today announced that the Lucid Gravity has been named 2026 World Luxury Car of the Year by the esteemed World Car Awards program. In an awards category open to electric, hybrid, and internal-combustion vehicles, Lucid's all-electric SUV was recognized by a global jury of more than 100 acclaimed automotive journalists from around the globe. Lucid is now 2-for-2 in this award category, with the Lucid Air sedan named World Luxury Car of the Year in 2023. Kudos to Lucid, well deserved. Best vehicles ever made! I have my AIR 4 years....I usually change cars about now. But the AIr, I'm keeping it a decade, thats how good it is!
 
I'm pretty sure Time tried to exclude me in that as I opted out when I subscribed to Newsweek
 
Suck it to all those reviewers complaining about the exposed 2nd row seat "guts"

Lucid Motors is recalling
4,476 Gravity SUVs (2025–2026 models) due to potential failure of second-row seat belt lap anchor welds. These faulty welds, originating from a supplier, may fail in a collision, raising injury risks. Affected owners will be notified by mail by May 22, 2026, and Lucid will inspect and repair or replace the seats for free.

Key Details of the Lucid Recall:
  • Models Affected: 2025–2026 Lucid Gravity SUVs produced before Feb. 14, 2026.
  • The Problem: The second-row outboard lap belt anchor bracket may have insufficient welds, which could cause them to fail during a crash.
  • Safety Risk: The vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS 207 and 210) and might not properly restrain passengers.
  • Remedy: Lucid will inspect the affected vehicles and, if necessary, install a reinforcement bracket with adhesive or replace the entire seat assembly for free.
  • Company Action: This is a physical recall; owners will receive notification letters starting around May 22, 2026.
  • Supplier Issue: Lucid noted the seat manufacturer, Camaco, modified the welding process without approval.

Great review from across the pond, you can see what the Saudi-built EU market Gravity looks like with CCS port. I also learned that there is a little bit of recline on the 3rd row. And complications of having 'household' outlets in multiple markets means lots of different plugs.....
