I finally turned the HUD off today

If they're going to carry the option over to midsize I can see them developing it further. Can't imagine they will if not.

Edit: To be clear, I'm not saying this is ok! I would be incredibly frustrated if I paid good money for the HUD!
I can’t see how they’d get under 50k and still have a HUD

They better make sure Gravity's HUD works before carrying anything over to the Cosmos

Definitely won’t be offered in the base model but the $50K model is a starting point. With options it could go to $65/$70K and a HUD could be in a package. I mean, even the Audi Q4 has an AR HUD as an option, with ACTUAL AR!

My i7 has an awesome HUD. No idea if its “AR” tho

I finally turned the HUD off today. I’ve concluded that due to the vertical position not going low enough it’s too distracting and dangerous for city driving. The image is too high in my sightline and interferes with safely seeing pedestrian and cross traffic. Once I turned it off I found the car much easier and more pleasant to drive, and certainly less distracting. I miss the blind spot warning triangles a little bit, but I still have those on the mirrors.

I will probably only use the HUD for long highway trips when the blind spot warning is more useful for lane changes at high speed, and you’re looking farther down the road.

It would be great if the positioning could be fixed with a software update, but based on my understanding of the hardware that is not likely to be the case. This is one of the perils of buying a 1st generation vehicle. I hope they fix it with the next iteration. I love my Gravity, but I know Mercedes/BMW/Audi/Porsche would’ve iterated the HUD to perfection.
I feel exactly the same. But I turned mine off within the first 2 days. Waste of money for anyone over 6' or with a long torso. It can probably be fixed with a couple of washers tilting the mechanism, but that would likely involve removing the dash to get to that. Very frustrating, but like you I felt it was dangerous to be so high (and distorted).

Good news for you folks. Looks like Lucid is actually taking steps to fix the HUD.

Is the passenger window down or is that a reflection of the HUD on the windshield? :)

There’s no where to go but up. If you’re going to put the HUD in my line of sight, instead of at the bottom of the windshield, then putting big red arrows over the pedestrians I’m about to hit would be an improvement.

My read is that they have been advertising a feature they didn't even had a software vendor for until now. Or maybe they were planning to develop it in house and they finally gave up.

Better late than never. ETA guesses? Mine is EOY lol
