Lucid Investor Day - March 12, 2026

There's also the possibility that the combined effect of both could drum up even more interest. In terms of generating more clicks, for example something like "Rivian R2 revealed!" versus "Rivian R2 versus Lucid Midsize, who will win?!", I think the latter could get more clicks. Perhaps something like a Barbenheimer phenomenon. Only time will tell.
This. I don't think either (Lucid or Rivian) timed it to happens this way, but the Lucid midsize being revealed the same time as the R2 lineup is IMO a good thing for Lucid. Will probably end up getting more eyes on it and heck, might even get people to hold off on getting on the R2 to see what this new Lucid midsize is all about. I'm personally excited for both.

We recently bought a new Model Y and it is an excellent vehicle. I get the appeal for a vehicle of this size and price point. Luxury automakers are late to the party in this space, but I'm glad to see it. This category of vehicles offer a great package of size, value and performance. If Lucid can deliver a more luxurious offering in this space than the Model Y and still be lower than the Volvo and the BMW, then I see no reason for anyone to worry about the Lucid's longevity.

Winterhoff just reiterated in a LinkedIn post midsize will start under 50k.

Feel like they have to be doing some sort of reveal if this is their lineup for the midsize topic: Derek Jenkins, SVP of Design & Brand, Zach Walker, Chief Engineer and Emad Dlala, SVP of Engineering & Software.

Don't see how these folks can spend a whole session talking about midsize without showing the car, especially Derek Jenkins.

They could totally tease bits and bobs without revealing the whole vehicle. I wouldn't it put it past them either, so then they can do a true Midsize reveal event in the coming months.

I can't take the suspense! I want to see what I'm replacing my Air with

If it’s going into production at the end of the year then they need to show it now, not in months. The time for dangling the carrot is running out.

If it’s not shown soon then the assumption will no doubt be that it’s delayed.

The thing that impressed me was Marc actually going out and talking about the Gravity and defending/promoting it. Lucid leaders are way too comfortable with focusing on the engineering and letting the vehicles speak for themselves. You don't have to be like "that other guy", but we'd like to hear from you occasionally.

Guessing Marc didn’t get the memo that some owners are still having random key fob issues 😂
I thought the same thing - I hope he means with the next update, it's fixed. Otherwise, distinct disconnect. I want to believe Nick Twork reviewed the draft...

I'm also curious what they're going to say at this Cantor conference in advance of the Investor Day... some more bread crumbs to keep people interested?

Here are some of my notes from the conference recording. To preface, both Marc Winterhoff and Taoufiq Boussaid emphasized that they can only talk about so much before the official investor day.

- Q4 production rates mentioned previously are the rates that could be used to take production to 25-27k units per year, but 2025 being the year that it was showed how much of a headache all the challengers were. The vast majority of their production and deliveries are expected to be Gravity, as the sedan market is admittedly shrinking.

- The partnership with Uber is just the start, with expected deployment on both personal-owned vehicles and robotaxi market.

- On midsize:
-> Platform is meant to scale and that they are still confident on <$50k price point. Further details to be discussed on investor day.
-> First 2 variants will mostly have the same parts for economies of scale and for allowing Lucid to do things relatively quickly.
-> Focus has been on cost, efficiency, and simplification.
-> They do see L4 autonomy being deployed to midsize first because it's already prepared for it. Air and Gravity will require more investment to bring to L4, so that's why they'll do L4 on midsize first.
-> Significant part reduction (even compared to Air, Gravity, and other midsize competition) will allow big change for procurement and production.
-> On tech side, they still expect to have lidar, radar, and cameras (Interestingly, no mention of ultrasonic sensors. Have they achieved the level of precision on radar that they can ditch ultrasonic sensors just like what Rivian did?)
-> Nvidia has helped reduce the BOM cost on the compute side.

- On PIF and Saudi Arabia:
-> Saudi Arabia's goal to diversify beyond oil is still in effect.
-> AMP2 is still on track to be ready for SOP for midsize by end-of-year.
-> Amidst current events, so far everything remains the same for them. Lucid does not foresee a lot of impact so they can continue as planned. (I will not dive into this further because I don't want to derail into politics and global events)
-> AMP2 has a planned capacity of 150k. All vehicles with full build-up there will be the three midsize variants. Air and Gravity will continue being assembled via kits.
-> On referencing Saudi Arabia's deal to purchase 50k vehicles with option of an additional 50k, though the Air and Gravity are part of that delivery, the bulk of the order will be on midsize, and the ramp-up of deliveries for this agreement will be when midsize comes out.

All in all, this makes me more excited for the investor day!

I've previously commented that of the three midsize, variants, I've speculated one variant focused towards on-road driving dynamics, another for "soft" off-roading (like the Volvo EX 60 vs EX 60 Cross Country), and the third for hardcore off-roading (to take on Rivian directly). I think the comment on the first 2 variants having mostly the same parts further fuels this speculation. Only time will tell!

I think neither Marc nor Emad can really afford to publicly say that they're still struggling to resolve the quality issues that have frustrated Gravity owners. I'm assuming (hoping?) that their recent "problem solved" statements are them nodding to the significant improvements offered by recent OTAs, while still recognizing that there are frustrated owners being bitten by the remaining bugs, and more fixes are needed.

Most bugs have been fixed, from what I gather. And continual improvement expected.

Air owners too!

Oh no! They are definitely revealing it. Definitely, we'll see the Exterior.
They might be vague about the Interior and other specs (battery, charging speeds, horsepower, etc).
But surely, after reveal, potential buyers will be able to somewhat make up their minds about their next Midsize EV (Lucid-Midsize vs. iX3 vs. EX60 vs. R2).
