Lucid Air Touring
I’m a new Lucid Air Touring owner, and the biggest issue I’ve run into is that Spotify will suddenly go silent. The track continues to play—time bar moves, song progresses—but there’s no audio. Has anyone else experienced this? Any tips or fixes? I’m aware of the reset option, but even after doing that, the problem returns after a few days.

The other Spotify issue is that when trying to select a specific song from my playlist it sometimes just progresses to the next song in playlist order vs. actually playing the song I selected.

Thanks for the help and advice in advance!

I'm also a new Lucid Air Touring owner. The native Spotify app is the most frustrating thing I've experienced so far with the car. It frequently stops running for significant periods of time and it often switches over by itself to Spotify on Android Auto instead of using the native app (which is a lower bit-rate due to the bluetooth connection). It's something I wish Lucid would focus in on along with implementing the lossless format on the native Spotify app.

As a reminder: Lucid does not write the Spotify app. Lucid ships the Spotify app. Spotify writes it.

If you remove Spotify from the Android Auto list of apps, I think that will solve your problem with it switching from the native app mode.

I have also had the same issue since I bought the car six months ago. I can’t believe it’s a Spotify issue as it works in my other car and my previous car. It is pretty frustrating!

There's a recent review of a 2025 Lucid Air from Jason Fenske who runs a YouTube channel called Engineering Explained and evidently Lucid Motors acknowledged and has already addressed some of the issues he identifies (article: Lucid Responds to Scathing Air Criticism in the Best Way Possible). While I agree with some of the issues he points out, I don't agree with all of his criticisms. I am encouraged by the response to his very popular video review. With low sales and a stock price hovering far too low IMO (the debt and other issues are dragging it down), Lucid should be laser focused on customer feedback to help drive up the adoption numbers.

Are folks still seeing this issue with their Spotify accounts today? My tidal stopped working entirely for the three weeks, due to supposed connection issues (I hvlave logged out and in, and tried rests etc), and only Spotify works showing track details.

Any suggestions appreciated.

I apologize for my ignorance, but what is the advantage of having a "native" Spotify app over just using the one on your phone through Carplay?

in theory: ease of use and audio quality (more barriers you put between source and speaker waters down the quality...whether non-audiophiles can tell the difference stays with you though)

I haven't had issue with actually playing music with tidal...but i haven't had an atmos track play in atmos in 3-4 weeks as well

Thanks. All seems baffling to me, but I guess that makes sense

I am still having the same issues with Spotify, albeit less often then when I originally posted. The solution is when it happens to switch over to CarPlay, but it is for sure a Lucid issue, it seems.

Here's the Tidal error that mine has been stuck on. Not able to recover, even with vehicle resets. And, if I use my Tidal account on the phone and connect via Bluetooth, then it works. So it's unrelated to Tidal and software issue specific to the car.

I occasionally get this issue. Switching to another music app and then coming back to Tidal has fixed it in the past for me. Not always, but most of the time.

I have also experienced the problem of seeing the music play without any sound or sometimes hearing a different song than what is displayed on the screen.
I can't claim to have found the solution or the source of the problem, BUT I realized that there seems to be a mix-up between the Spotify app integrated into the car and the fact that it gets confused with the Spotify app on my iPhone.
When this occurs, I disconnect from my Spotify account on my iPhone, and everything returns to normal.
The Lucid Spotify app takes over.

I would like to point out that all these Spotify or other issues didn't exist when we had an AM-FM radio with push buttons, but back then we had a 3-speed transmission and no air conditioning or heated seats and steering wheels. Hihi

They actually did though, lol. I had a Mazda with an AM-FM radio with push buttons, and it displayed info from the radio station on the screen, except sometimes it was off by a song; but it was pulling the info from actual radio (Radio Data System (RDS), which embeds ~1.2 kBit/s packets of digital text data directly into the FM radio signal; inaudible to you, but easily read by your radio). I've seen it display the wrong time, wrong song, etc. Sometimes due to bad configuration on the radio, sometimes due to signal interference, but almost always the simpler answer: transmitter error. :)

Nerdy video if you're curious how it works:

Yes. This seems to work for me as well.
