Gravity Charging

Still getting the same error. Will not start charging on supply side scheduled charging. Screenshot_20260225_064456_Lucid.webp

Someone on a different thread had said that their Air did not like having charging schedule controlled by the charger and had to set the charging schedule in the car instead.

Perhaps it's an error if both the car and your charging station are trying to control start time? For instance, I could imagine this error if the Gravity said "it's time to charge", but when it tried to draw current from the charger the charger was saying "it's not time yet". The car software might then throw an error and not try again.

I've tried all sorts of combinations. On the other thread it was suggested that gravity charging scheduling is the reverse of air. I have no clue and service throws up their hands since it's they bring it in they are no problems. Really sick of this. Had similar issues with the air back in the day and software updates eventually trickled through and I could get it to work with some work arounds. But honestly this is ridiculously frustrating. Everything else I've learned to live with- squeaky seats, struggling windows, loud ac, random glitches, but if I can't confidently, consistently rely on charging, maybe this isn't the car for me. Maybe by the time the lease is up everything will be worked out (like my air was...gosh I miss that car a lot now lol)

Just chiming in here, may be helpful. My setup is a Tesla Universal Wall Charger, it's setup to allow charging during schedule of 8:30AM-12:30AM. This is done to match my solar production. Gravity is setup to start charging from the car at 9:30AM. It then charges for 3hrs and the charger kills it's charging. If I try to plug in the car outside the charger active hours it will never charge and throw errors. If it actually hits the charge limit before the charger turns off it can stay plugged in and restart the next day at scheduled time.

Lately it has been a bit flaky waking up automatically at the scheduled time, I have to open the app to get things going.

Here's how I fixed my Air's charging using Home Assistant. It's not pretty but works well.

Sorry it wasn't much help. Perhaps go super simple. I'm using the Lucid supplied 40 amp charger plugged into an EV-rated NEMA 14-50 outlet. In the Gravity's settings I told it to begin charging at 10:15pm. Mine starts right about that time and alerts me through the Lucid phone app. That charger has no onboard software (that I know of) to interfere with scheduling. If you can't get that to work correctly it's entirely a Lucid problem and they should be less inclined to shrug shoulders at you.

What's the range of SOC that you can set the Gravity to finish charging? I've owned Tesla Model S for the past 10 years where the SOC can only be set between 50% and 100%. Is the Gravity similar, or would it allow me to set my charging set point to something less than 50%?

I don't drive that much on a daily basis now that I've retired and have gotten in the habit of not recharging daily unless my SOC is getting down below 40%. That's where I'd like to be able to still plug in, but not have it start charging if SOC is in the 35-40% range.

Thanks.
50% is as low as Gravity goes, too.
