Grand Touring Gravity
I currently own a Cadillac Vistiq. However I'm considering buying a Lucid Grand Touring. I'm experiencing problems with the Cadillac not following the charging schedule. Actually this vehicle is programmed with two types of charging programs, "Scheduled" or "Preferred." Using the "scheduled" format, you set the end time and the vehicle determines when to begin charging. Using the "Preferred" method, the vehicle is supposed to begin charging at the "start" time and end at the End Charging time. It does neither. I generally plug the vehicle in around 7:00 pm expecting the charging process to begin at midnight. Instead it begins sometime earlier and end/finish randomly in the morning. So all this being said, has Lucid taken steps to fix their charging process/schedule?

I can't speak to the Gravity, but my 2025 Air Touring, which doesn't have a "finish by X time" option, has been reliably charging at the scheduled time (11pm) since spring. I'm not aware of a single instance when it has failed to start charging at the allotted time.

Same is true for my GGT. I can only set the start time, not stop time, but it has always started at the correct time. I have a Tesla universal wall connector on which you can set a time window during which charging is allowed, so that’s how I can control when it ends.

Yup. Works fine on both Air and Gravity; set a start time, it starts charging at the designated time.

And the Gravity manual:

Can a Gravity use a 4 prong CCS/J1772 charging outlet (Non-Tesla) with a conversion adapter? I have my level 2 wiring connected directly to my breaker box.

Yes. My GGT came with adapters to CCS or J1772 (two different ones to be clear). I’ve only used the J1772 adapter so far and works every time.

Scheduled charging may be resolved on the Gravity but my Air has been hit or miss. It was often enough that I turned it off. Recently tried again and still not 100% with a couple skipped scheduled events and charging immediately upon connection over 30 days. I’m using the Lucid Connected Home Charging Station.
Support so far has offered no resolution. Search this forum and you’ll find similar experiences.

I guess I've been lucky. Scheduled charging has been perfectly reliable in my 2025 AT. Starts every night at 11:05pm without fail. Using the Lucid Mobile charger.

My gravity has been throwing errors this week with scheduled charging on a chargepoint at home. After 2 years of ownership with an AT which finally was fine with my system, the GGT is not happy. Anyone else having issues and figured out how to resolve? I do TOU at home and have the chargepoint start at 12am and the scheduled charging start at 1205am. This worked well on the AT but the GGT has been very hot or miss. Screenshot_20260117_000901_Lucid.webp

Update here: took the gravity into service. They looked at logs and couldn't find anything. Tried scheduled charging last night and it through off the same error. Again, this approach used to work with my air. Very frustrating.

Had this happen first time last week as well. My charger also has TOU restrictions - only allows between 12a-8a and GGT is setup to start charging at 12:05.

I manually paused and unpaused the charger and then started charging manually from Lucid app a little before 8a. It charged for a few mins and then stopped as expected. Not sure if it was a fluke but everything was fine afterwards.

Curious if 3.4.1 is giving you issue with scheduled charging? Prior version seemed to be ok with shutting off car side scheduling but now I can seem to find a combination that works.

Worth pointing out that the Gravity comes with a NACS charger (L1 and L2 cable options), in case you want to just use that. I use that for 40-amp charging at home and it's sufficient.

If you prefer a hardwired solution you can go with what you have using the adaptor (most likely) or replace it with an NACS native charger. Lucid has teased that they will be offering a V2H solution later this year which we suppose will require their branded 80-amp EVSE and perhaps other hardware. I'm holding out on making that decision to see what they're going to offer.

I had one night of skipped scheduled charging last week (since 3.4.1). I manually removed the plug (during the day when TOU wasn't active), locked the car, unlocked it and then plugged it back in. That night onwards it's been fine.

Separately, am also seeing a frequent error in the app since 3.4.1. "Vehicle Not Charging" (or something similar like "Charging Error") in big red letters. Underneath, it says to contact Customer Care. This error seems to occur during the day or sometimes during TOU when car should be charging. If I manually pause/unpause the charger and then restart the app, it oftens goes away and car starts charging if in TOU window.

Definitely some charging flow flakiness (at least for me) since 3.2.20.

Same here. Ugh. Cmon lucid?! @marqie

Oh man, happened again last night. Woke up at 530a to discover charging didn't kickoff. Manually paused/unpaused charger which then showed "start charging" button in the app to kick it off.

I usually don't lose sleep over it but leaving for a long road trip tmrw morning and lack of reliability making me nervous. I might need to set an alarm for 1205a to make sure charging starts :(. Hopefully gets addressed in the next software update.

I've had similar charging errors. I am not using scheduled charging but have had numerous incidents of vehicle not charging, sometimes it tells me to contact customer care, other times it tells me to unplug and replug. Sometimes unplugging and replugging works, other times just playing with the app seems to get things going again. I think contrary to some of you, I had more of these before the 3.4.0/1 update, and fewer since. They definitely seem to coincide with the coldest evenings. I have reported to Lucid through several channels. I was told on one occasion that I needed to have a "module" replaced - though I have not yet scheduled service for this. It hasn't sunk me yet, as I am usually able to get it to start charging again.

These charging errors are really frustrating. Please make sure you send to [email protected] email, so at least they are hearing from more people than just me. It's one thing to not work on the road (which is probably more stressful in the moment) but not being able to charge at home is ridiculous. If they want to send me a lucid charger and an electrician I'm happy to live with the situation (if that's the resolution).

Done. Reported my experience from last week with multiple missed nights of charging.

What's the range of SOC that you can set the Gravity to finish charging? I've owned Tesla Model S for the past 10 years where the SOC can only be set between 50% and 100%. Is the Gravity similar, or would it allow me to set my charging set point to something less than 50%?

I don't drive that much on a daily basis now that I've retired and have gotten in the habit of not recharging daily unless my SOC is getting down below 40%. That's where I'd like to be able to still plug in, but not have it start charging if SOC is in the 35-40% range.

Thanks.
