Lucid Gravity 3.4.0 software update

When I last drove the car on Tuesday, the speed limit indicator was dropping to 35 MPH for almost the entire 30-minute drive. It would change to the posted speed when passing a speed limit sign for maybe 5 seconds, then revert right back to 35 MPH. No internet that whole drive either ("Network Unavailable"), which happens quite a bit even when I know the actual AT&T dead zone is only a mile at most.

I've never noticed a correlation to the speed limit before when there's no internet, but I'm wondering when internet drops if the car just shows the last speed the live map provided? I've never been sure when and how long speed sign recognition is used vs map speed. If that's what was happening here, it seems like sign speed is only used for a few seconds. Seems awfully short though before it hand it back to map speed.

I had the Lucid Service van out last week. My problem with the center console not reading the key card had been cleared up by the 3.4.1 update, so we scratched it off my list. The tech said that on some earlier builds they had a problem at the factory where the wire to the NFC pad was knocked loose while they were installing the cup holders. He can insert a scope through the cup holder to see if your wire is loose. If it is, the whole console has to come apart to fix it. FYI

Many thanks for the tip and the info about what the root cause might be. I'm going to try to repro the issue a few times (IIUC I have to open with valet card on the B pillar, wait 2m before touching the brake, try the center console?) and then decide whether to summon service to work on it.

Had my center tray, that contains the NFC reader, replaced today.

I can't seem to get this double-press to work, but I can get basically the same outcome with the long press.
 
HUD background transparency is pretty bad in garages and cloudy/rainy outdoors. Flashes an ugly purple background often.

Just noticed this today and I’m not sure if it’s related to version 3.4.1. If you remove the USB to view the files on your computer, when you plug it back into the car it won’t work with Halo Secure unless you reformat the drive again.

Side note! Lucid says they’re gonna be a software and autonomy company and not a car company 😂

That's not true; it's just buggy. Whether you plug it into your computer or not has no bearing. Unplug it and replug it right back and it may fail to mount the same way. Do it 2-4 times and it may remount just fine. It's a bug.
 
Thread is a bit long so not sure if this is covered yet. My Gravity (early Dec build) got 3.4.1 several weeks ago and I have noticed so far:

- Sirius/XM app is still buggy and will basically become unusable in cases where it temporarily looses network. It is nowhere near as bad as pre-3.4.1 but still present.
- Door lock/unlock is way better. It went from basically unusable to working as well as I expected it should (every time).
- UX still crashes a lot when I enter my car. They did get the reboot time down from 30s to 10s so that is a major improvement. I would still like to see this fixed but it is now reasonable.
- Sometimes door auto lock doesn't work and the car will stay on and unlocked even when I am out of range. When this happens I have to open the driver's side door and close it then lock with the key fob. This was worse pre-3.4.1 but is still present and is a little troubling since it leaves the car completely unlocked and the headlights on. I think it is a bug in the passenger detection since it primarily happens when I get out before a rear seat passenger.
- Still get erroneous reports of auto brights being disabled. It was almost every drive pre-3.4.1 now it is more like every 5th drive and seems to be related to how much dust is on the cameras. Before 3.4.1 it would disable basically all driver's assistance when this happened but doesn't seem to anymore.
- UX is definitely faster and requires fewer presses to get something done. There is still a lot of room for improvement but this is a lot closer to what I was expecting on delivery. Pre-3.4.1 my wife would have told me to take it back if she had driven the car (did not get a chance before the update). I have tolerance for bugs, will note them, and report them (I am a SWE) but she has zero tolerance for bugs.
 
I am out of town, just plugged in mobile charger to 110v before a snow storm. And, I just got notified to install 3.4.1 update. Should I wait till I stop charging (is there a conflict with charging while updating?) or should I wait till I get home in a few days (incase the update strands me away)? Thoughts appreciated?

They don't want you updating while charging.

Interesting bug noticed today - car was in garage (where it is connected to WiFi so it does have some kind of connectivity), and when I unlocked and sat in it , I noticed that time on the clearview cockpit was behind by about 20mins. I double checked, it was showing 2:26pm, but my phone was showing 2:45pm, I couldn't beleive my eyes for a few seconds there,checking my sanity. Took about ~30 sec for the car clock to update /sync time (I was driving by that moment)

I've seen that as well. As in your case, it updates after I start driving.

Same here. Noticed it a few times. Another apparent problem (like the audio) of relying on needing an internet connection to do basic stuff.
 
Got a new bug tonight. We were down to 11% SOC and used the nav to get the pre-conditioning started. Nav showed I'd arrive at the supercharger with 9% SOC but I took a shortcut the nav didn't know about and after recalculating the route it decided that my SOC on arrival to the charger would now be 75%. It also thought it was going to take 28 minutes to go 1.2 miles with the new route.

Kind of an inexplicable one other than the Here navigation sucks.

It has done that on occasion to me in previous updates, so it is not unique to 3.4.1. Nav can do some bonkers things from time to time, but 99% of the time, the estimated SOC on arrival is about dead on. When it does do the weird arrival time and SOC, things to check for are if the nav added an extra nonsensical charging stop or if not, cancel and reroute. That usually clears it up
 
Navigation is not great. It routinely tries to route through private roads or sidewalks. They need to abandon it and go to Google maps already.
