Does Air rear climate control turns on Automatically?

My 2022 Air Rear climate controls remain off even when passengers are present. When I inquired with my service center, they advised me to turn it on and remember to keep it off for the next drives. However, in my case, it doesn’t work that way, and I have to manually turn it on every single time.

Before the recent update, the climate controls used to automatically turn on at least 20% of the time. Now, they fail to turn on at all. I contacted customer support, and they claimed that the controls will turn on when there is someone in the rear seat, but that’s not the case for me. My service advisor also stated that the controls don’t turn on when people are in the car. I’m not sure which information is accurate.

I had my kids in the backseat last night for a trip to the store. Manually had to turn it on. I did not turn it off and it was off this morning on the way to the gym.

Yes, i have to manually turn on every time. CS is saying it will turn on auto when there is a person in a seat, it may not work with kids but should work with adults. Not sure if this is a bug or it is not auto period and CS is providing miss information.

That has been my experience. If someone is in the seat it will turn on. If not, it reverts back to off

Not the same for me. It used to turn in 20% of time before last update now it is 100% manual for me

A kid in a car seat won't activate. Someone buckled into the seats and directly on the cushion should activate it, otherwise it also shuts off automatically after like 20 mins if noone is detected in the back. Also it requires all of the rear and main set to auto.

Yes, i have all the settings set to auto and an adult buckled in and still i have to turn it on
And my service guy says this is by design there is no Auto on and CS says it is auto. And this is goin on from last few months and there is no solution.

I report to customer service and they will send Service in and the service says its working per design. There is no auto functionality. The i show what CS said and he responds CS Is wrong

Cherry in the top, they can send me tech and if it is working as they expected and they will charge me for that. And they are saying customer support is missing information. Now i don't know where to go.

I’ll have to double check mine; since I rarely have anyone in my back seat I can honestly say I haven’t noticed. That said, does it work if you use sync instead of auto? Or both?

Also, does it work with remote climate control? Just curious and trying to debug some of the states.

Thank you, i have set my climate to Auto and sync and rear display not locked and still dont work. It worked twice yesterday and stopped working .

Yes, when i use remote climate control, all zones are on. Also seat weight sensors are working since i get rear passenger seat belt alerts.

Reached the length of my troubleshooting talent Software soft reset and then toggle all the settings? I swear my old Air would just turn on if it registered someone there regardless of rear auto/manual since there is a main rear control.

I believe this is a basic minimum for electric cars and more of Lucid being luxury brand in it. I am. Kt sure why i am being consistently rejected on looked at this and fixed

Anymore that can confirm this is automatic?
My service center says they will send a tech to verify but if it is not auto, they are going to charge me for the travel time and service fee.

I mentioned customer care and owners manual shows it is auto and there response is both are wrong
