What's the standard Lucid way of dealing with unresolved issues?

2025 Lucid Air Touring
Hi there,
I have a 2025 Air Touring 2025 (VIN: 50EA1TEA7SA005564, delivered 04/25).

Among others, it's had a very prominent and extremely annoying rattle and squeak problem with its rear parcel shelf. The problem has not been resolved after 5 attempts by both mobile units and after spending nearly a month in two different service centers:
1. Millbrae Service Center-9/9/2025: Bench seat crossmember and parcel shelf rework for squeak prevention
2. Mobile Visit-10/1/2025: Front driver seat squeaks and rear parcel shelve rattles
3. Mobile Visit-10/21/2025: Rear parcel shelve rattles
4. San Jose Service Center-11/15/2025: Installed new front driver seat and rear parcel shelve rattles
5. San Jose Service Center-1/6/2026: Rear brake jounce hoses and rear parcel shelve rattles

In my last visit to San Jose service center and after a week keeping the car and telling me how they're investigating and fixing all sorts of problem, I was hopeful that issue would be finally resolved. To my surprise, it wasn't. In fact, the rattles and squeaks were as bad as they were before and impossible not to notice, not even a tiny improvement. When I texted the service advisor, he told me that he'll bring it up to the manager and I should contact customer care to escalate (he wasn't surprised at all that the problem wasn't fixed and didn't even ask to bring the car back and check, very telling!).

I have contacted the customer care twice since then (Jan 15th, 2026) with last one being an email with detailed service records. Almost a month later, I haven't heard anything back.
I'm just wondering if this is some standard trick employed by Lucid hoping that people eventually give up or learn to accept and live with the problem. And perhaps, deal with the persistent ones through legal channels?

Anyone's had a similar experience? Was there a solution?

Thank you.

I did mine myself, then they replaced it and did something to it that seemed better, but now it rattles again.
Good to know I'm not the only one.

They replaced my shelf. No rattles since the replacement.

May I ask, how many miles it's been since the replacement? Mine didn't last more than 300 miles. I live in Bay Area.

I couple thousand and I was told the new shelf is a slightly new design. I hope they replaced yours with the new one and not just an old one.

In my experience, yes, that's Lucid's approach. They ignore you until you give up. Unless you happen to have a YouTube channel with a sizable number of subscribers, then they show concern.

Yup..same thing here. They answer once or twice then ignore if the issue isn't solved immediately.

I don't want to sway people away who may fall on this forum...but if it would be just the software or just the service that was lacking, fine...but to have both severely lacking in a wonderful car leads a lot to be desired.

If the car was under $40-$50k...sure..but for a $100k+ car, this is absolutely unacceptable. If Lucid wants to be a premium brand, they have to grant premium service. I have had an issue with one of my Porsches in the past and both dealers (the one I bought it from, the one that was nearest to me that was servicing the vehicle) took their time to give me updates, work on the vehicle and fix everything.

I think their employees are just exhausted too. I think they have a very high turnover rate, I know I’ve had service advisors that were great just disappear and don’t work there anymore. I guess the mobile tech for my area is out now too. I’ve had a good experience with my service manager, but if they don’t have the people then they just don’t have the people.

possibly...but that should be a core addressed early on, especially if you plan on ramping up volume and market appeal

I had mine replaced many months ago and still no rattle. The new one does seem to work well, but I guess not every time?

That is simply untrue, and especially here in the bay area. I don’t know where you are, and it’s clearly locale-dependent, but I can confirm this simply isn’t true. This can be evidenced by the fact that OP has had five service visits across Millbrae, San Jose, and Mobile.

They’re clearly not ignoring them.

Some of their designs just aren’t ever going to be good too. Like the frunk.
The frunk was never redesigned. The rear parcel shelf was.

This part is true.

I have no idea about turnover, but the Bay Area service teams have seemed relatively stable in the >4 years I’ve owned the car.

Agreed. They’re trying, and service at any new automotive org is *always* sinusoidal; you have releases where they are overwhelmed, and then lulls where they can provide exceptional service. Over time, these swings get evened out as Lucid learns what to prep for.

It’s clear the Gravity launch caught them by surprise; should it have? Surely not; but it did, and this is one of many changes that Lucid is working through (as can be seen on software, for example, as well)

Just my opinion

That's why I prefaced the comment saying that it was based on my personal experience 🙂
I can't speak for others, but they part about corporate (ie customer care) not responding seems to be widespread based on what I read here. Hopefully someone at Lucid can prove me wrong by getting back to me.

Customer care is not service. Customer care has sucked at times, and I cannot speak for or defend them.

Service is separate. :)
