Not a lie.

The NHTSA pretty much immediately launched an investigation, and it is almost certainly illegal. As of now, it is programmed to break the law at will, going 15 over, overtaking vehicles on dotted yellows, etc.

Not inherently illegal; doing it when already traveling well above the speed limit may be (mostly because it will make you speed even more).

But fine - it also runs stop signs, doesn’t stop for school buses, etc. Basically, it’s the worst Boston driver you know.

I do not want that driving my car. YMMV. I would also prefer fewer of those kinds of drivers on the road in general.

I’m not being hypocritical; I have no problem speeding. But I do not want my car making dangerous decisions without me. You are in a very fast weapon. It can easily kill people, both inside and outside your vehicle. “Mad Max” mode, I predict, will do precisely that.

Yes they will. I have it. I tested it. mad max is like 13 over.

I think reckless driving is the risk with any highway patrol. If they observe reckless maneuvers they can pull you over and cite you for this, suspend your license, etc. I would see a mode that encourages behavior / driving that would consistently be flagged by highway patrol as reckless driving that endangers other drivers, it will have a hard time passing this review.

Precisely. And “my car did it, not me” is not going to fly in court.
