Gravity Bugs / Issues

Fogging inside the camera/sensor housing on the windshield causing sensor alerts. It occurred in New Jersey on a cold sunny day. When I am about to park in a Costco parking lot, got two consecutive alerts, sensor blocked followed by high beam assist not available. Got out of the car and saw fogging inside the sensor housing. Took a picture, you can see clearly the two strips of fogging. After done shopping, about 34 min later, the moisture evaporated, as shown by the second picture. Reported this issue to Lucid. Other people in the area also reported same issue.
Could be a seal issue or a temperature mismatch. If the cameras are running warm/hot and that causes a heat pocket in that area then the cold weather outside would probably cause a reaction like that also.

I know Teslas had this issue for quite a while with their blind spot, side pillar cameras. I think they finally got a handle on it recently but I'm not sure what they did besides improving seals.

Wonder how they’d fix that.

They obviously have heating wires there to take care of issues such as snow or ice. So maybe the heating wires did not run long enough to heat the rest of the glass. I would think there is some kind of software fix where if the cameras feel like they have been blocked, they could run the heating wires longer.

I've had a long list of minor issues I've asked our SC to get us in for, but they just totally dropped the ball and stopped responding. Since they never fixed the 2nd row slide covers, now the left 2nd row seats are jammed and have limited motion. I irately called Customer Care and the local SC manager and said they needed to fix the 15+ things on my list and get it all working like a new vehicle should have before we leave on a long road trip at the end of the month. They called back and are scheduling us in next week as soon as the loaner Gravity is back.
A tech drove the loaner GGT over to me yesterday and we walked through all of the issues on my list, which were all acknowledged and he thought they could all be addressed quickly (before our next road trip -- I assume they don't want me putting 3500 miles on their loaner). Other than the "one door color strip is different than the others" they all seemed to be things seen before. It's interesting what software issues they do and don't know about -- the tech was not familiar with the "profile corruption" issue many of us have run into, and also didn't know about the HERE Map Creator. (He said they have issues with people finding the showroom/service center, and would love to update the map data.)

Before pickup I received an e-sign for existing service campaigns, which were all things I hadn't seen before:

TSC-Y0725-002-01 CE/Hazardous Material Label
Concern: The High Voltage (HV) battery assembly may be missing a label.
Cause: The CE/Hazardous Material identification label was omitted during the HV battery assembly or handling process.

TSC-N0725-005-01 - Driver Side Hush Panel
Concern: The customer may experience reduced power.
Cause: The driver’s side hush panel may interfere with the brake pedal, preventing it from fully returning to its resting position. This can result in the
brake system remaining partially engaged, leading to a reduction in power.

TSC-N0925-008-01 Rear Door Rattle Noise - Sunblind
Concern: Perform TSC-N0925-008 Rear Door Rattle Noise - Sunblind.
Cause: A rattle noise may be present from the rear doors when closing the door.

Despite my complaints it seems to me like these June-delivery GDEs overall have a lot fewer issues than the summer-autumn ramp units, and Lucid is only now getting back to consistent manufacturing at scale.

We had this for the first few weeks on our 2019 Model X, but then it never happened again. I assume that the moisture eventually outgasses or is absorbed by some desiccant, and a few thermal cycles are needed to extract the moisture.

Oh good post....I intermittently get those same warnings but have never identified the reason. Next time I see it I'll take a look at that sensor cluster to see if it's fogged. Does the defroster defog it? Is that cluster intended to be hermetically sealed so that moisture cannot accumulate?

There should be another campaign that says they need to check the NFC part of the center console tray to make sure the key card works. My car was in for service recently and that was in there. Unless it doesn’t apply to earlier builds.

I’ve seen the other campaigns you mention except for Hazmat, which perhaps was correct by h th e time mine was built in July…

I personally had a Model Y as a Hertz rental (remember those days? ;)) a couple years ago for a Telluride snowboarding trip and the driver's side pillar camera was useless most of the time because of the condensation problem.

My charge port door is now broken. It didn't want to open the other day, in the extreme cold. It took a while to get it open. I'm not sure how I finally managed to get it to open - something like lots of presses. Maybe I tugged it, I don't remember. About 24 hours later, and a few open/closes down the road, and I couldn't get it to close and stay closed. It appears that the little piece that twists to grab and hold the door when in the "down" position is out of alignment or something. I can manually manipulate it a little to make it stay closed, but when closed it doesn't want to open, and vice versa.

Add to this that the passenger rear door handle is permanently presented, and the passenger front door often stays presented, and 3 of the 5 most needed doors/handles on the car are not functioning as intended.

Someone else reported a service tech saying that the Gravity has already had multiple hardware revisions for the door handles. IIRC, I think they said the latest iteration is #8. If that's really true, seems like it's worth telling service that you want all your handles upgraded. While the commentary here is pretty fixated on software bugs, it does seem like Lucid is making a lot of little hardware tweaks as they learn what's not reliable.

  • I was away from the forum for almost 2 months, but I kept driving my Gravity. The issues did not improve — they got worse.
  • My car stayed at the service center for 12 days. They fixed about half of the items on my list, but the other half is still unresolved. They said they would schedule another appointment, but it hasn’t been set yet.
  • Please don’t mix Lucid Air experience with Lucid Gravity. Gravity is a brand-new platform and many Air assumptions don’t apply. Even the service team often seems unsure and says “we’re trying to solve it.”
  • Key fob issues are still ongoing. After service updates + a “key-near-car” update, plus battery replacement and even a full key fob replacement, it still works intermittently or not at all.
  • Bluetooth phone calls are still unusable. The other party cannot hear me.
  • Without CarPlay/Android Auto, I’m forced to use Lucid navigation. It’s inconsistent: wrong routing, unnecessary detours, and when I send an address from Google Maps via the Lucid app, the car shows “received” but it doesn’t actually populate in navigation.
  • Second-row seats still rub and won’t close properly from the rear. I have to press the button and then manually help the seats close. Service said it was fixed, but it wasn’t.
  • Profile switching is still slow. The latest update “improved” it from ~45 seconds to ~35 seconds. You still must be in Park, and switching profiles clears the active navigation destination, so you have to re-enter it.
  • After getting in, the car often makes me wait 3–5 seconds before it lets me drive — the system “thinks” before allowing movement.
  • Black screen issue happens about once a week. Either we stop, everyone exits, lock/unlock, re-enter — or we keep driving with a black screen for ~5 minutes until it returns.
  • Frunk interior close button still fails to register sometimes; often requires a second press.
  • Random warnings still appear constantly, even after disabling/reducing settings.

  • Steering Alert still appears about every two weeks. Service couldn’t fix it.
  • “High Beam Assist Unavailable” warning appears intermittently.
  • “Sensor Blocked” warning appears intermittently.
  • Most important: front passenger airbag issue persists. Even with the seatbelt fastened, small movements in the front passenger seat can flip the airbag status to OFF. This is a serious safety concern and still unresolved.

I talked to my service guy about my "no DreamDrive" situation. No surprise here: they are going to replace my steering wheel. Hopefully that will fix the issue. Unfortunately, I'm the 4th person in my service area needing a new Gravity wheel and the first one was ordered was over a month ago and still hasn't arrived---so who knows how long it will take to get mine! :-(

Very strange considering at least two of us have recently had our steering wheels replaced for this issue at the King of Prussia SC without any issue getting parts.

Funny you should mention that. I brought that up that I had read online that other people had their wheels quickly replaced for similar issues. Apparently because I'm in an area classified as a "mobile service area" (Dallas) rather than an area with an actual physical service center (such as Houston or in your case, KoP), parts take longer to arrive and are seemingly deprioritized. Also, the parts department is reportedly doing inventory the last week (or two) of the year and wont be shipping anything out during that time. Hopefully it can be somewhat expedited. My service guy said he's going to put my part in as an "overnight" request. We'll see what happens. On a brighter inventory note, he told me he finally has a spare keyfob to give me for the 2nd one I'm owed.

Not sure if this deserves its own thread but I can't find this anywhere:

The 2nd row seat button (one on side of seatback on 2nd row seats) takes a lot of pushes to get it to move forward when trying to get out of the 3rd row seat.
When we push the button, seat moves an inch or so then stops. we have to repeatedly push it to get it to move forward so we can exit the 3rd row seats.
We have tried varying combinations on long presses, multi presses, drum beat rhythm to "silent lucidity" and we just can't figure out reliable way to get seats to move forward. Sometimes it will go 1st push, but that's rare.
Went and read manual but it simply says to "press" the button to activate seats...its kind of embarrassing, especially when showing the car to new people

Anyone else have this issue?

Yes I have this issue. I took delivery on 12/1/25 and had this issue with the left 2nd row seat. I identified it at delivery and was documented on the punch list or whatever Lucid calls it. Hard to tell if the seat is rubbing with the right seat or the 60% seat motor is underpowered compared to the right/40% seat. No issues with the right/40% seat.

Still need to get it in for service.
