Engineering Explained. This is bad.

I'm not an engineer at Lucid, but I will tell you from experience writing data pipelines as my job. Even one less component on a data pipeline has exponential effects in terms of data management down the line. That's one less downstream encoding headache and data augmentation the data team would deal with. And that's why I'm so focused on the BOM.
It is definitely not exponential. Software engineers LOVE writing new code instead of fixing the old one. But the new code will be as bad as the old one unless you KNOW what was wrong with the old. And the only way to KNOW is to fix it first.

This was a metaphorical story :) gentle allusions to lucid ownership that owners could relate to.
Of course it is. I am just demonstrating where the metaphor breaks down. Getting parts for your wife doesn't depend on the success of the "company" that made it. :)

I disagree. A sizeable portion of my work involves refactoring and rebuilding old production pipelines to ensure they are up-to-date with my company's best practices and data governance requirements, up-to-date with the latest data, and to make them more robust, scalable, and faster.

Listen, at this point, it's clear that both of us are at an impasse. We can agree to disagree and move on. There's nothing productive with arguing over the internet. Besides, we're starting to stray over the purpose of this thread.

I've finished a bottle of claret and sitting in the darkness of the winter solstice by the pagan tree

I wish to thank all those here who have chosen to commit to electric vehicles. They are not yet perfect, as are we.

The Lucid team appears to be the best of them ... their better angels aspire to the pure spirit, as do we all.

Do not harshly condemn those who travel this path.

"Be the future you want to see."

Any chance that yours is a Fully-Loaded Grand Touring with Stealth, Stellar White, 20/21" Wheels, Tahoe Leather and 7 Seats (I am impartial to Towing Package)?

If so, I'll gladly assume ownership. My scheduled production date is 12/28/2025. Who knows when delivery will be.
I suspect your post will be a great impetus for @Bus Driver to get the Gravity.
Herd pressure works

Soooo... back on topic. It's now been several days since the EE video dropped and it has been the focus of several more hit pieces that reference the EE video and all we've heard from Lucid's communication team is deafening silence. Yes, I'm talking to you @Nick.Twork . Your one comment buried in over 10,000 on the YouTube video isn't cutting it and neither is ignoring the situation hoping it blows over. I'm sure there's a debate about trying to avoid amplifying it by responding....but honestly, I think they need to. If I didn't already own a Lucid, I'd personally be looking for some sort of follow up from the company to see that they acknowledge the issues and have a defined specific plan and timeline for resolution. If I was a potential customer, I don't think I'd be taking the gamble on a car this expensive that had the appearance of being that big of a mess in the video. The clock is ticking and the timer may have already run out for many of those customers seeking reassurance.

They already lost two sales I personally know off, they are getting a BMW ix and i5.

Reason- “heard of software issues from a YouTuber”

Great job Lucid! Either fix the software or stop selling cars! Brand name is getting dragged through mud!

OMG, did we go an entire night without another end of the world post based on the EE video! I’m ecstatic, I’m heartened, hell, I think I’ll take a drive in the best car I’ve ever owned! ;)

I have all the profile and screen issues what EE is talking about. It seems the software is worst when you have two drivers profiles set.
I hope Lucid listens now and do something about this, i have reported this 1000 times to Lucid and no ears heard it.

Probably, my wife doesn’t drive my car and I’ve had no issues with my Air software over the past few months.

And the CarPlay he said very much exists when you have two profiles with car play. I have removed CarPlay in my wife's phone and it’s almost flawless after. Lucid dont want to admit this so not updating owners to keep one CarPlay active.

At least he’s responding, but I do agree it’s probably time for some form of official PR statement from Lucid to appease future buyers that stability improvements will be rectified in X months, etc.

no need to keep blasting whoever the hell Nick Twork is, you will run him off and get nothing.

and what do you want them to say? They know the software is shit. The EE video has had no effect on their stock, had no measurable effect on their sales, why waste their time on it? They need to rebuild their software team more than they need to patronize a youtuber. It would be as stupid as hiring Nick Chalamay to make a sexy commercial instead of making key fobs that work before you sell the car.

FURTHERMORE- of all the things wrong with the software…switchable CarPlay profiles being slow? Who cares?? That’s exactly what most viewers will say. The videos showing people unable to operate the cars are way more damaging. But the EE one is just an angry engineer, which is their natural state.

He also did a video smashing Tesla with what 4 million views? And that did….nothing at all... to Tesla.

Some of these influencers actual influence is totally overblown.

The stock price is not the only criteria that you can use to measure the effect of these reviews. Let's see if the sales are affected before we declare that they are "overblown".

Kinda hard to hurt their sales numbers when they are sub 4k/quarter since inception…

Has any Lucid management acknowledged these bugs and made a commitment to prioritize fixing them? That would go a long way. I've not seen it.
Nick must have read my post! 🤫 And you know what? It really is a bit comforting to at least to acknowledge and not hide pretending nothing is wrong. There are very serious things wrong. For me the question really is, will it take 8 years to get barely working as its supposed to like my '17 purchase of FSD? I don't need any dates - I need significant and demonstrable progress without new bugs being introduced. Soon please.
