Scheduled charging bug

Well, that's just stupid. I don't know who thought that was a good idea, but it isn't. It makes scheduled charging pretty worthless (in my opinion).

Agree. On my old old Nissan Leaf I could set the charge time on and off as well as a different setting for weekdays and weekends. The Lucid scheduled charging software was done by lazy Lucid employees who did not want to take the extra time to make it work properly - 12h on, 12off, and doesn’t end at the 12 off time. Not impressed with a supposed high end luxury car line. I expect much better.
 
The charge window is 6 hours. From the manual:

Charging Schedule and Flexibility

Charging will be automatically scheduled to start at the designated time when you connect your vehicle to an AC charger located within a 50m radius of the specified location. If you happen to plug in your vehicle after the scheduled time, charging will commence immediately.

This grace period lasts for a maximum of 6 hours following the scheduled time. For example, if you have set the scheduled time for 5:00 PM and you arrive home after having dinner at 8:00 PM, the charging process will start immediately upon plugging in at 8:00 PM.
 
I had a bit of a breakthrough today. After trying multiple combinations, I finally found a combination that:

1. Doesn't result in the car attempting to charge immediately when it's not scheduled to
2. Results in the car displaying "Charging Scheduler" when the cable is plugged in.

Here's what I did:

1. I set the Tesla Universal Wall Connector to "Compatibility Mode" (Tesla app > Settings > Vehicle Charging > Access Control > Compatibility Mode)
2. I turned off the Wall Connector schedule

I'll update you all on whether the car will trigger charging at the correct time daily or not.

They are still in the dark ages as for scheduled charging. Should be an on and off time setting, one for weekdays and one for weekends.
I wish they would get away from something so primitive.

Or modify the Air's hardware/software stack so that externally-scheduled charging could work.

Any luck? I have the same charger and just toggled Compatibility mode but the vehicle started charging right away totally disregarding my set schedule.

I am having the same problem as you, charging at home. I set my "at home" charge to start @00:15AM. But it charges as soon as it is plugged in. Haven't had time to investigate yet!
 
Update: after setting my Universal Tesla Wall Connector to "compatibility mode" and doing a soft reset of the vehicle I've noticed that scheduled charging is working as intended. I have it set to 10pm and when I plug the vehicle in before 10pm it just says charging scheduled. Then around 10pm I get a notification stating that charging has started. I'll keep observing this and report back if anything changes.
 
I have the same charging issue. was set to 12:01. but randomly started charging 3 times in the evening before (of course at the highest energy rates). I took this picture through the window when it was happening.

Is anyone else using a Wallbox charger with their Gravity?

When I plug it in, the vehicle displays "Charging Scheduled" and the Wallbox says "Vehicle not requesting energy." This matches how my Air behaves with the same charger, but the Gravity never wakes up to start charging at the scheduled time.

Even stranger: as soon as the vehicle locks, the Wallbox throws a communication error (see attached). The error clears as soon as I unplug the car. I've used this exact setup with my Air for over a year without a single issue-it always wakes up and pulls power right on time.

Any ideas or solutions? I can manage staying up until midnight during the holidays, but that won't work once I'm back at the office!

I am, but mine works. I actually have scheduling set up on both wallbox and the gravity. One difference: mine is normally “locked” because I have a friend who charges and that’s how we track it, but I unlock it (any time) before the charge and it works fine.

I did used to get that on my Air, oddly, but haven’t tested it in months.

Interesting, thanks for sharing. I’ve been using it this way in my Air for over a year, and scheduling from the car side only has been working perfectly. I think the Gravity software still needs some work to maintain the handshake with third-party chargers after the car goes into deep sleep.
The Gravity didn’t work last night after restarting both the car and the charger, so I disabled scheduling from the car, and enabled scheduling from the charger a few minutes later, and it worked. I’ll wait and see if it will work tonight, I'm worried the car was still in semi-awake state last night when I scheduled it, and I wanna check if the charger will wake it up if it’s in deep sleep. Will report back.

Obviously, there needs to be a way to specify the charge window end as well as start, and per day of week .

Reporting back, my theory seems to be right.
Setting the schedule from the charger (Wallbox) side only worked last night.
@borski I think the schedule in your Gravity is doing nothing, try to turn it off and the schedule in your Wallbox should still work. Based on what I read in Air charging threads long time ago, setting both schedules isn’t a good idea as they may create conflicts in handshakes and charging initiation.

In my Air, you're right. In the Gravity, it hasn't seemed to take issue with me having both schedules set. That said, you're right that the Lucid schedule may be doing absolutely nothing in this case lol and it's driven by the Wallbox schedule. I'll test that in the new year.
 
Just to add to the mayhem, my app shows this - the car is sitting at 20% and won't charge even when the limit is at 80%.
