I’ve been a proud Lucid owner and have always tried to give the company the benefit of the doubt. But after this past month, I’m finished.
On September 20th, I found my driver’s side carpet soaked under the mat, even though the mat itself was dry. A few days later, while my car was parked outside during a storm, I opened the door and realized water was coming up from under the carpet — a serious leak.
I contacted Lucid Service, but since I was 1,000 miles from home, they told me to wait until I returned. A pickup was scheduled for October 6th, but the transport company never showed. It was finally picked up October 9th and delivered October 10th — but Lucid didn’t even inspect it for a full week.
They eventually said the leak was caused by missing plugs in the cantrail clip holes (apparently an early Dream Edition issue) and sealed them with butyl tape.
After being without my car for nearly a month, I got it back November 5th — still stained, musty, and wet again after washing.
This isn’t new. My car has been in and out of service for weeks at a time over the last couple of years. Everyone there knows it — it’s infamous for its issues.
Lucid had every chance to make things right, and they didn’t.
Buyer beware — their service network is overwhelmed and quality control is slipping fast.
