My wife and I have very different playlists in Spotify. In usually use “Hey Lucid” to start a playlist of something she would prefer, because “happy wife, happy…” (you get the idea). So, today, Lucid will either play a single song and repeat it when the forward button is pressed or. In the case of requesting a playlist in a genre, it will start the song with an ad. So I asked our friendly Lucid bot, “Why are you doing that” and it replied “ads support our music service.” If I try to forward past it, I get a new ad.

Unfortunately, this makes the music service unusable. So today I downloaded a few playlists onto my Spotify login and if all else fails, I’ll show my wife how to stream music from her phone via Bluetooth.

That's Spotify, not Lucid. Can you import your wife's Spotify playlists into your account?

And you've logged into your Spotify account on the Lucid, right?

Lucid does not play ads for any music. The various services might if you aren’t on their premium plans.

I'm really confused. 'm pressing the mic button and saying "Play ..." It doesn't default into Spotify, does it? And I've got the ad-free plan for Spotify and have never heard an ad before when I go into Spotify from the Music menu.

Tap the Music icon and see what music service is active when you use the feature.

You can ask it to play from a specific service, and it may be defaulting to something; I’m not sure. But I am 100% certain Lucid is not desiring to play you ads.

Yeah, that sounds frustrating ads interrupting every playlist really breaks the flow. Downloading playlists and using Bluetooth sounds like a solid workaround for now.
