Hey all — wondering if anyone else has run into this with their Gravity. Within a week of delivery the Clearview Cockpit screen started going completely black while driving. Generally starts with a “Headlight Error” warning, followed by screen flickering. The Pilot Panel has gone black a few times but generally works. When the Cockpit screen is out I can’t put the car in drive. The only fix was to get everyone out of the car and wait ~10 minutes for it to “sleep” and reset itself. Customer Service scheduled me for two weeks from now at a service center an hour away because the local one is “at capacity” (ominous). Anyone else dealing with this tech / screen issue?

I’ve never had that happen while driving, only on vehicle entry and they black screens get better in 15 seconds then it loads my profile. You’re on 3.3.5 software too?

That was because the tow driver pressed the fob button to open the frunk, in attempting to turn off the alarm. Also not an applicable situation, as as far as the car was aware, it was parked.

I only partly agree. It's true the car wasn't being driven, and so it wasn't going to crash because the driver's view was obstructed. But if there was a secondary manual safety latch on the frunk, it would have avoided the need for what sounded like a rather expensive repair.

Anyone slowly losing the right click on their right touch pad?

Its now taking 5-7 click attempts to switch songs.

Before I had to click near the top right corner to get the right click to work. Now it just won't work anywhere.

I'm curious to hear a report of someone taking their Gravity in for service for the touch pad, and how/if they resolve the issue. It sounds like multiple owners are finding the touch pad only semi-responsive, and we've heard a very direct comparison between someone's Gravity and a loaner that had dramatically different touch pad responsiveness.

Maybe this is the new center-console problem.

Since our newest Gravity doesn't have the rear seat squeak of the first one I always keep the second-row seats run fully back to maximize legroom.

Several times now when I have opened the back doors to vacuum the carpet I have found the seats run forward 2-3 inches -- both seats even with each other. I have called friends who've ridden in the second row to see if they adjusted the seats, but they say they didn't.

I cannot find anything in the Settings that would suggest such a "feature", nor have I seen the seats moving on their own.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

It's a weird intermittent issue. After the reboot it was perfect but yesterday I got so fed up with it I just started using the touch screen.

Then today, all morning, every time I got in the car the two right screen were black.

I will say the error message are pretty much non existent now. So I guess that is progress.

At its core the car is fine, but the experience of the software is very inconsistent.

I had no idea that software was behind so many things in a Lucid.

I will say, however, that Lucid has a novel way of educating you: have each thing go on the fritz at point or another, just so you appreciate how much they do with software.

Oh, the software in our Gravities is very consistent. Something will go haywire every time I get in either car.

The past few times I've gotten into our second Gravity I've gotten a drive system warning telling me to contact Customer Service immediately. The warnings quickly disappear, though.

This happened a few times in our first Gravity before the rear drive unit failed on a road trip. Today it happened when the YouTuber who reviews his Gravity on "Up Current EVs" got behind the wheel of our Gravity. He said he had never seen it in his car, although he gets constant other apparently false alerts.

Is this another of the random false alerts everyone is getting, or is something heading off the rails again with the powertrain?

Same thing has been happening in my car for the past few days, and I also noted it in the same video as you did.
I already have a SC appointment on Thursday for other issues, so this one will be added to the list to confirm software vs. hardware issue.
Although I'm a bit scared that software issue might be mistaken for a hardware issue, causing unneccesary drive unit replacement.

On a bright side, I just had a new one for me, opened the driver door to get in, but my seat went into fully reclined horizontal position.
It's like the car knows about my stress level and offers me to take a nap and relax

Want to provide a small glimmer of optimism in this thread. Of course this thread is meant for the complaints but prospective buyers read these threads and assume every car is trash. I was so hesitant to take delivery after reading through this.

I just took delivery today but so far zero issues. Locks and unlocks every time. Handles present as expected. FOB and key cards all go into drive without issue. Navigation works beautifully. HUD with no weird reflections. Home link functioning. Dream drive pro drive me for 20+ miles of highway smoothly.

I'm sure things will pop up but day 1 everything is flawless. There is hope. Insanely nice car.

Our cars are not trash, they are like pets from the shelter, we love and cherish them, even though they pee in wrong places and tear up couches

Update on fob buttons falling off. I was instructed to super glue the button back on. They did not offer a new fob. Not thrilled with that solution. I asked what happens if the super glue does damage to some other part of the fob and was told “it shouldn’t…”. Hmmmmm.

The plastic underneath where button was works fine if I push it, but am afraid all buttons will fall off more easily if I don’t try to put the other back on. But I just can’t bring myself to do it.

Right now, fob is working perfectly and I don’t really use the buttons, so I will keep it in the ziploc bag until I find a 3P leather case.

Posted in Gravity-Delivery-Discussion .. but this seems more like a 3.3.5 bug

YESTERDAY: I went to the beach [today]. It wasn't hot so I didn't turn on "creature comfort". Locked the car and went for a walk. About 40 minutes later I returned, unlocked the car, got in and it was already noticeably cool in there, like the A/C was continuously running. I mean, the few seconds between unlocking and getting in couldn't cool the car off. Once locked, shouldn't the A/C turn off?

TODAY: I realized locking the car with the fob locks the doors, but the mirrors no longer fold in. Neither the A/C nor the displays and ambient lighting turn off. I have to manually turn off the headlights and A/C. The car has been in the garage, locked, and it is still "on" .. it's been like this for an hour. And the fob is at the other side of the house with the battery removed. And, yeah, I've rebooted it a few times now.

I never had this occur with 3.3.2

Try switching to another driver profile and also try turning off auto lock on proximity setting, forcing it to use the button to lock the car.

Other posters have reported the same. It's happened once on our first Gravity but not yet on our second.

Just checked the Gravity - interior lights are off, mirrors are folded. It's about 1-1/2 hours since I locked the car .. so some time in the last half hour it decided to .. sleep? Rather than poke the bear tonight, I'll try the profile thing tomorrow. Thanks /keith

Supposedly, it goes to sleep much faster than that. That said, I’ve found that a good night’s sleep “cures” many of the Gravity bugs for a while…or for good.

I’ve gotten random “rear steering unavailable” and “headlight error” alerts even though I’m on 3.3.5 one time after charging, but it was a false alert. The rear steering error went away, the headlight one did not, so I tested all the lights and they worked perfectly. The error went away with a sleep, did not clear with a reboot. Also of note is my HUD does this bizarre dim red background with periodic cycling of brightness during rain or low light but is perfect during the day and at night. Reportedly the HUD has a separate calibration for rain/dim light and normal conditions so if you experience this, you may need your HUD recalibrated. It doesn’t bother me enough to intervene yet, so I’ll wait until 10k miles service to fix that along with my center console that won’t recognize my keycards.

Given I've already had an RDU replacement in the first car and that this drive system warning has been popping up consistently upon powering up the past several times, I'm a bit apprehensive. I don't want to end up in a rental car on another road trip.
