Any chance Lucid DD Premium in Lucid Air will get auto-steer lane keep assist

As a DD Premium Air owner, I greatly desire one feature that is currently missing: ability to auto steer within a lane without constant correction. Tesla offers this in the basic autopilot that comes with every car. What are the chances Lucid will add that feature to DD Premium?

Hands-free, lane-keeping is standard in Gravity but not Air which is optional.

I have no idea why or whether this will change for the Air.

One can hope. I really think itd be a significant move to close the gap on Tesla’s standard (until recently announced base Model Y) features and tech.

At the moment, on Air, that (and the related hands-free) the main difference between Pro and Premium, so I'd say it's unlikely until Pro gets more features.

Even my daughter's CRV has this as standard. Big miss for Lucid.

I keep wondering if the scarcity of DreamDrive Pro cars in inventory is because Lucid might eventually move some of these advanced driver-assist features to a paid software model. Right now, DD Pro cars get the full sensor stack (including LiDAR), but most of the features people actually care about — highway hands-free, lane change assist, etc. — are things other brands already do with camera/radar setups and no LiDAR at all (Tesla, BMW, Rivian, etc.). So in theory, Lucid could start offering certain capabilities as a subscription instead of forcing you to buy the full DD Pro package up front. Honestly, I’d 100% pay for it just in the months when I’m doing long road trips instead of dropping thousands at purchase. Maybe I’m dreaming, but it would be a smart recurring revenue stream for them.

I believe some of the DDPro 2 hardware is different in the Gravity vs the Air, but not sure.

I would expect, at some point post the mid market model, they’ll update more tech in the Air - if it makes sense. If it’s like Tesla, and continues to be incredibly low volume versus their mid-market (and I hope Lucid’s Earth gets massive volume), then updated hardware will come later.

All that to say I wouldn’t expect big feature jumps on existing Air cars. Too much focus on Gravity bugs and (hopefully) Earth.

Also, I agree that much cheaper cars have lane keep, so yeah, it’s a bummer.
