A couple of days ago my windshield washer spray pattern changed. Instead of flooding the the windshield, it dribbled out in lines of fluid. Then it stopped working altogether. I figured it was out of fluid. It seemed pretty early to be out of fluid, since I've only had the car two months and haven't used the washer much. So I filled up the reservoir, which didn't take that much fluid (1/2 gal?). That got the washer working normally again. However I realized I never got a "low fluid" warning light. Perhaps I just missed it--I don't think so but whatever. I am used to cars today having reservoirs of a gallon or more. Thoughts?

I added washer fluid to my reservoir only once in a 12 month span, since the car's aerodynamic profile often causes bugs and whatnot to pass over the windshield rather than impact it. I wish I could recall how much was needed, but I definitely saw a Low Washer Fluid notification prior to refilling; this would disappear and reappear due to sloshing of what was left in the tank. I never did encounter a spray output issue, however.

I had almost similar issue but my best guess is that the water had evaporated from the lines and you had to manually spray dozen of times yes a dozen until the water is within the system

I did the same as you and filled the reservoir and to my surprise it was almost full so I kept pushing the manual spray until it started working fine and I have never had the same issue again

My guess if the car is new either the lines gets clogged and needs cleaning/ mutiple tries to get it unclogged from the cleaning solution or water lines gets dry from inside and need the water to move through out the system to work properly

It's been a while.... but I did have a fluid malfunction with my 2020 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid...
what I was in Oregon I Had been driving taking the 23 (I think that is the number) from West to east, drove over snow filled hyway and it just did not work when I needed it to...
I looked at at station and it was low, but drove a few more miles and it was working again.... so I had the notion that it just froze the fluid.....
Not to say that was your issue... just thought I'd put my 2 cents in ... 8)

Air takes slightly less than a gallon to fill from empty. Only car I had with a proper wash bottle was an old Volvo I had. Took slightly more than a gallon. Fill the washer dispose of the container. None of this 1 cup left in the container taking up room in the garage.

Yeah it looks like its clogged. I've had no luck getting it cleared yet.

Mine is doing the exact same thing. 2 weeks old and doesn’t spray anymore. Not empty.
I have the same issue. I know it's full, but I can barely get any fluid out of it. So something else must be going on.

The pump isn’t holding pressure I guess bad check valve or something who knows. I’m falling out of love with this car a little with dumb stuff like this.

I tried cleaning the nozzles as suggested in the manual and that really didn't help much. I may do a deeper dive on it in the near future.

It’s not the nozzles. There’s no pressure to the nozzle. It’s a bad pump or a bad check valve.

Have you called Service?

You're fickle.... I'm still quite in love with my car! I haven't called service. It's got 46,500 miles on it. I'll just have them look at it when it goes in for the 48K service in a month or two.

I’m fickle because it’s fall and a car I spent 97k two weeks ago on has windshield wipers that don’t spray anymore?!?! I need that spray!

Call service. Windshield wipers are small potatoes.

Honestly @Denali_Dane has gotten me out of the habit of using them at all. For fear of ruining/scratching my glass.

Oh it’s on my growing list of things wrong with this car, unfortunately. I’m sure they’ll sort it out but it is frustrating.

Lucid really does sort things out and go above and beyond in being proactive. At least that’s been my (and many others) experience.

I’m sure they’ll get you situated my friend. Go outside and jump in the car and put it in Launch mode to make everything better. That’s what I do.
