What happens to my referral points after lease ends?

My lease of the Air is ending next month. I have quite a lot of referral points!

I don’t plan on getting another lucid for at least another year or so (looking at getting the Gravity Touring when it finally comes out).
So in the mean time I will not be a Lucid owner.

What happens to the points have collected until then? Do they expire? Get deleted along with my account??

They will expire.
 
You might want to do the income tax math beyond using 4800 annual points first. Compared to the item prices outside Lucid store, using more than 4800 tax free points annually does not make much sense to me. Just a financial trade off to be aware of.

not sure I fully understand your point here. Can you explain a bit more? Maybe give an example
 
The point I was trying to make was that if your effective tax rate on using referral points exceeds the price of those same items outside Lucid store, it does not make sense to use points. Of course, there may be items that you absolutely need and cannot find outside Lucid store. In those cases, you'll just use your points to get them. I personally use no more than 4800 points annually understanding the points that I accrue expire in 2 years.

Do you have an example? I have not found a product in the rewards store where the number of points multiplied by $0.125 and then by, say, 37%, would be higher than the cash price in the Lucid store.
 
I was comparing against cash prices OUTSIDE Lucid store. For example, I bought snow socks and portable tire inflator from Amazon at a fraction of the cost at Lucid store.

Few months ago, Amazon also had roof rack cross bars and ski roof rack mounts at a lower cash price. Nonetheless, this year's purchase from Lucid store included cross bars which cost me less than 4800 points and thus was tax free.

Ah. 3rd party accessories will always be cheaper than Lucid-branded ones. That’s true.
